Present: Ian Murray, Chairman; Stephen Curry, Director; Sandra Knipe, R.N.B.S.N., Member; Dr. John Bogdasarian, M.D, Member; Dorothy McNamara, Public Health Nurse Meeting Minutes Review & Approval: Sandra Knipe made a motion to approve the September 7, 2017 meeting minutes. Motion was seconded by Dr. Bogdasarian. All were in favor. Motion carries. Fitchburg Rules and Regulations for Body Art Establishment and Practitioners Discussion: Dorothy McNamara presented the Body Art Rules and Regulations revisions for discussion. She stated many of the changes were voted on in previous BOH meetings by this Board. The apprenticeship program as well as definitions were added to the current rules and regulations document. In addition some of the restrictions were suggested by local Body Art shop owners. A copy of the proposed regulations with the changes will be sent to all local Body Art Practitioners/Pierces for their review and a future meeting will be held to discuss any concerns they may have. Liability and Workman’s compensation for the establishments were discussed and will be submitted to the Legal Department for review. Sandra Knipe made a motion to approve the draft Tattoo Regulations for Body Art Establishments and Practitioners as discussed and the proposal shall be sent out to each Establishment and Practitioner in Fitchburg with a signed copy they received it, with a 30 day comment period. Motion was seconded by Dr. Bogdasarian. All were in favor. Motion carries. Staff Reporting: Nurse’s Report for September 2017: Sandra Knipe made a motion to approve the Public Health Nurse report. Motion was seconded by Dr. Bogdasarian. All were in favor. Motion carries. Housing Inspector Reports for August 2017: Sandra Knipe made a motion to approve the Housing Inspection reports. Motion was seconded by Dr. Bogdasarian. All were in favor. Motion carries. Nuisance Dog Discussion: Mr. Curry stated Chief Martineau is requesting two nuisance dog hearings before October 31, 2017 if the Board will accommodate his request. The Board decided on October 25, 2017 at 5:00 for the dog hearings. Sandra Knipe made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:00 pm. Motion was seconded by Dr. Bogdasarian. All were in favor. Motion carries. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
