FITCHBURG CITY CLERK Mar 18 10:15 am Fitchburg Cultural Council Monthly Meeting Monday, May 30, 2025 MEETING MINUTES In attendance: Joe Bowen (chair), Shara Osgood (secretary), Liz Murphy (treasurer), Mike Amedeo, Jen Hemenway, Tamar Russell Brown, Cie Moran, Eva Kelly, Millie Whitfield, Catherine Healy (arrived late) (view recording for details of meeting) CALL TO ORDER: Joe called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. INTRODUCTORY COMMENTS: Joe spoke: Welcome, mission, public meeting guidelines & protocols Public Comments: No comments. No one is online. NEW MEMBERS: No new members or new info to relate VOTE: Treasurer’s Report No report tonight GRANT REPORT; No grant report TREASURERS REPORT: Most checks are out. A few will go out in the next 2 Fridays. VOTE: MEETING MINUTES: Motion: - Millie: to accept meeting minutes from 4/28/25, 5/5/25 & 5/27/25 FY26 grant subcommittee 2nd: Liz In Favor:8 Opposed: 0 Passes Unanimously FY26 Grant Planning Subcommittee : Tamar: Noted committee’s reasons for changes Mike Described the basic concept for evaluating proposals PUBLIC INPUT SURVEY: Items discussed relevant to the 2024 survey updates for 2025:  Need for relevance of information being requested in the survey  Removal of questions 5 & 6 used in the 2024 survey  Request more details in the types of events people want to attend, have attended or will attend, ranked by importance and interest. Motion: Liz: Propose removing Questions 5&6 2nd: Shara In Favor: 8 Opposed: 0 passes unanimously Discuss rating the importance of various programs. Valued answer. 1-5 Catherine suggested we have a box to check to volunteer at events. Add yoga & wellness programs, with humanities. Motion: Liz : add Wellness & Other categories to Q4 & split into 2 parts; interest to volunteer and attend, followed by rating importance. 2nd: Catherine In favor: 8 Opposed: 0 Passes unanimously Motion: Shara: Q2 - to add checkboxes for “I attend school in Fitchburg” & “other” 2nd: Mike In Favor: 8 Opposed: 0 Motion: Shara: remove #3. Consider answered in question 8 2nd: Jenn In Favor: 8 Opposed: 0 Passes unanimously Motion: Millie request where you get your info about events 2nd: Shara In Favor: 8 Opposed: 0 Passes unanimously Catherine suggests QR code on survey to a list of events/ our website Motion: Shara: Remove bullet points & keep 8-10 as is 2nd: Jenn In Favor: 8 Opposed: 0 Passes unanimously Motion: Liz: to adjourn 2nd: Joe In Favor: 8 Opposed: 0 Adjourned: 6:03 .
