In Attendance:

Minutes:
The November 26th minutes were reviewed. Dr. Braga made a motion to approve the minutes, Mr.
Gardner second the motion and the minutes were approved by unanimous vote.
Meeting Activity
GPA:
Mr. Packard presented the new model for calculating the GPA which will start with the class of 2028. This
method is aligned with the Department of Higher Education. In addition Mr. Packard shared that he
examined approximately two dozen different school systems and eighteen systems were using the model
that we are reaching toward.
The School Committee’s policy of nondiscrimination extends to students, employees, and the general public with whom it does business. Fitchburg Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed,

Dual Enrollment and AP:
Mr. Gardner shared the results of his research regarding the weight of the dual enrollment classes
compared to Advance Placement. Pointedly that Worcester Public schools provides parity for Advance
Placement and Dual Enrollment. Furthermore, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
suggests this policy of equal weight.
Motion:
Dr. Braga made a motion that the school council share this information with the community for feedback.
Mr. Perry Seconded the motion and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
