Fort Mill Town Council Workshop Minutes Monday, May 5, 2025 6:00 p.m. Council Chambers 205 N. White Street Fort Mill, SC 29715 PRESENT: Mayor Savage, Councilman Hudgins, Councilman Garrison, Councilwoman Cook, Councilman Helms, Councilman Moody, and Councilman Wolfe were present. CALL TO ORDER PLEDGE OF ALLEGENCE INVOCATION Invocation provided by Councilman Helms EXECUTIVE SESSION Please Note: Council may take action on Executive Session Items listed on the agenda when they come back into Public Session. Executive Session Item #1 Receipt of legal advice relating to potential claims Executive Session Item #2 Discussion of negotiations incident to proposed contractual arrangements Councilman Wolfe made a MOTION to go into Executive Session. SECONDED by Councilwoman Cook. Passed 7-0. Councilman Helms made a MOTION to come out of Executive Session. SECONDED by Councilwoman Cook. Passed 7-0. Mayor Savage noted that no votes were taken in Executive Session. Page 1|2 INFORMATION/DISCUSSION Information / Discussion Item #1 Employee Health and Wellness Programs – Cary Vargo Town Manager Cary Vargo provided Council with an update on the Town’s medical insurance benefits and premiums for the upcoming benefit year beginning July 1, 2025. Councilman Helms made a MOTION to move forward with the Manager’s recommended changes that included offering no cost short term disability and vision coverage to eligible employees. Councilwoman Cook SECONDED the motion. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-1 with Councilman Moody opposed. Following further discussion, Councilman Helms made a MOTION to amend the previously adopted motion to move forward with offering no cost short term disability, long term disability, and vision coverage to eligible employees. Councilman Garrison SECONDED the motion. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-1 with Councilwoman Cook opposed. ADJOURN Councilman Wolfe made a MOTION to adjourn. SECONDED by Councilman Helms.
