Council Meeting
January 6, 2020
Call to order
Gavel strike of President of Council Jeffrey McLaughlin, called tonight’s meeting to
order.
Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag
Reverend Lukish led the invocation along with Council President Jeffrey McLaughlin
leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call
President Jeffrey McLaughlin ordered a roll call. Members in attendance were President
Jeffrey McLaughlin, Vice President Thomas Murray, Kristy Dadurka, Frank Mazza,
David Sieminski and Cara Devine. Borough Mayor Andy Tuzinski, Chief of Police Daniel
Hunsinger, Borough Manager Bonnie Arnone, Borough Secretary Michele Pascarella,
DPW Supervisor Rick Kamus, Attorney Shannon Lapanski in place of Attorney William
Finnegan, and 10 visitors were in attendance.
Public Comments
There were no comments made by the public.
Motion to pass Resolution 2 of 2020 the resignation of Debra Troy from Council
Motion was made by Thomas Murray and was seconded by Cara Devine. Mayor Andy
Tuzinski and all Council members thanked and applauded Debra Troy for her 6 years of
service. All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed.
Open Nominations for Council Appointment
There were 3 residents interested in this position and each were given the opportunity
to speak to Council. Phil Mertz, Rob Craig and Susan Smith all spoke to the Council
members of their interest for the position. Thomas Murray nominated Phil Mertz and
Cara Devine seconded the nomination. There were no other nominations. President
Jeffrey McLaughlin closed nominations All were in favor of the nomination of Phil Mertz.
Phil Mertz was sworn into council by Mayor Andy Tuzinski.
Consent Agenda
Matters listed with the consent agenda have been referred to members of the Borough
Council for reading and study, are routine and will be enacted by one motion of Council.
If separate discussion is desired, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda by
Council action. The resolutions listed below are submitted by Borough Council for the
review and will be adopted by one motion. These items have been presented to the
council at the prior month’s work session for review. Motion to approve and/or accept
the following consent agenda items
• 11/18/19 Special Council meeting minutes

Correspondence
• Notice of 902 Grant Award- $340,297.00 (new packer and new wheel loader)
• Police and Fire Department donations from Beyond Behavior Consulting ($750
each department) Mayor Andy Tuzinski will write thank you letters to be
presented to Beyond Behavior Consulting
• Letter of Interest from Robert Naples for Zoning Hearing Board Vacancy
(discussion will be made at the January 21, 2020 work session for all open
vacancies)
Council Action Items
A motion was made by Thomas Murray to approve payment of all bills. The motion was
seconded by David Sieminski. All were in favor. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Frank Mazza of the Resolution 1 of 2020- 2020 Salary
Resolution. The motion was seconded by Kristy Dadurka. All in favor. Motion passed.
New Business
A motion was made by Cara Devine to approve the 2020 meeting schedule. Motion was
seconded by David Sieminski. All were in favor. Motion passed.
Mayor Andy Tuzinski asked Council to appoint Susan Smith to the Shade Tree
Commision. Motion was made by Cara Devine and seconded by Thomas Murray. All
were in favor. Motion passed.
Mayor Andy Tuzinski will be bringing members of the volunteer Fire Company to the
next meeting to discuss future goals.
Mayor Andy Tuzinski will be writing thank you letters to the Vo Tech class that built the
menorah that was placed at the Forty Fort Park. Thank you, letters will also be given to
Chief Hunsinger’s law enforcement class for, passing out 2020 calendars
and newsletters.

There was no old business
Meeting was adjourned at 7:45PM. Motion was made by Phil Mertz and seconded by
Cara Devine.
The next meeting will be a work session on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at 7:00PM.
