FORTY FORT BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, APRIL 6, 2020 The April meeting of the Luzerne Borough Council was held via telephone conference call on Monday, April 6, 2020 due to the COVID-19 Crisis and mandatory stay at home order. President McLaughlin called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM with the following council members present on the call: Phil Mertz, Kristy Dadurka, Frank Mazza, Tom Murray, Dave Sieminski & Cara Devine. Also present were Mayor Andy Tuzinski, Chief Dan Hunsinger, DPW Supervisor, Rick Kamus and Manager, Bonnie Arnone. Mayor Tuzinski led with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. RESIDENTS: Brian Thomas of 1124 Wyoming Ave. praised Forty Fort Borough for the paving of the alleyway in town especially now that everyone is doing so much walking outdoors. He did not that he has seen increased speeding on Wyoming Ave. CONSENT AGENDA: These items have been presented to council at a prior month’s work session for review. Motion to approve and accept these consent agenda items was made by Mr. Murray and seconded by Ms. Devine. All council was in favor of this motion. Report - February 2020 Kingston Fire Report - February 2020 Manager’s Time Sheets - February 2020 Treasurer’s Report - February 2020 Tax Collector report - 1/21/2020 WVSA meeting minutes COUNCIL ACTION ITEMS: Motion to pay all bills as presented was made by Ms. Dadurka and seconded by Mr. Mertz. Mr. McLaughlin abstained from voting on two payments; one to Golden Business Machines and another to Kingston Borough: All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed. Motion to pass Ordinance 1 of 2020 which incorporates all prior ordinances for the Forty Fort Firemen’s pension as well as the newly voted upon section was made by Mr. Murray and seconded by Mr. Sieminski. All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed. OLD BUSINESS: Quotes have been received from three local companies for security cameras and equipment to be installed at the Forty Fort Borough Bldg. and the Forty Fort Park and Pool. After some discussion on the matter and the fact that council would like to review the quotes more thoroughly, the following motion was made:  Motion by Mr. Murray and seconded by Ms. Dadurka to instruct Manager Arnone to work with both Mr. Murray and Mr. Kamus on having the work done only at the Borough Bldg. at this time due to the unknown effects the COVID-19 pandemic will have on the Borough’s finances. All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed. Mayor Tuzinski thanked all borough departments and employees for the work that is being done amid this pandemic stating that all operations remain fluid. With there being no further business to attend to, a motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Murray and seconded by Ms. Devine at 7:45 PM.
