Council Meeting
Monday May 3, 2021
Call to order
Gavel strike of President of Council Thomas Murray called tonight’s meeting to order.
Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag
Reverend Lukish led the invocation along with Mayor Andy Tuzinski leading the Pledge
of Allegiance.
Roll Call
President Thomas Murray ordered a roll call. Members in attendance were President
Thomas Murray, Vice President Cara Devine, Phil Mertz, Frank Mazza, Jeffrey
McLaughlin, Kristy Dadurka, Dave Sieminski, Borough Manager Bonnie Arnone,
Borough Mayor Andy Tuzinski, Police Chief Dan Hunsinger, Borough Secretary Michele
Pascarella and DPW Supervisor Rick Kamus. There were 7 visitors in attendance.
Public Comments
Ann Schwartz from Susquehanna Avenue asked if Council asked the firm to meet with
the residents for the Bike Trail, President Thomas Murray said that no meeting has
been scheduled yet.
Consent Agenda
Matters listed with the consent agenda have been referred to members of the Borough
Council for reading and study, are routine and will be enacted by one motion of Council.
If separate discussion is desired, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda by
Council action. The resolutions listed below are submitted by Borough Council for the
review and will be adopted by one motion. These items have been presented to the
council at the prior month’s work session for review. Motion to approve and/or accept
the following consent agenda items:

Motion was made by Phil Mertz and seconded by Cara Devine. All were in favor, motion
passed.
Council Action Items
A motion was made by David Sieminski of payment of all bills as presented and
seconded by Kristy Dadurka. All were in favor. Motion passed. Jeffrey McLaughlin
abstained from payment of GBM.
A motion was made by Kristy Dadurka for the hiring of Angelo Lombardo, Olivia
Orlando, Chris Schell, Zachary Konopke, Christian Mavus, Sophia Ginochetti, Hannah
Kern and Kenley Golanoski as lifeguards for the 2021pool season. The motion was
seconded by Cara Devine. All were in favor. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Phil Mertz to accept Resolution 7 of 2021-LCFPA Intermunicipal
Agreement. The motion was seconded by Frank Mazza. All were in favor. Motion
passed.
A motion was made by Cara Devine to hire Edwin Weidow as part time police officer.
The motion was seconded by Phil Mertz. On the question: Ms. Devine asked for some
general information on the officer. All were in favor. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Cara Devine to hire Suliman Ismail for part time DPW. The
motion was seconded by David Sieminski. On the question: Ms. Devine asked for some
general information on the employee. All were in favor. Motion passed.
New Business
River Street Bike Trail grant received for $200,000.00- applied for a $2 million grant, will
have to scale back on the original budget. Resident Rich Gower of 306 River Street
asked what does this grant entail? This includes the completion of bike and pedestrian
sidewalks on River Street and the conduit for lighting.
Request for Proposal invitations sent to five consulting firms with proposals due 5/13/21.
Deadline for proposal is 5/13/2021
Proposed Handicap swing for Park- this is funded by the fundraiser. There have been 2
purchases so far 1.) handicap swing and 2.) Backboards for the basketball court. The
installation of the park cameras should start in approximately 2 weeks.

Atty. Finnegan update on miscellaneous items
Meeting was adjourned at 7:36 pm by Cara Devine and seconded by Kristy Dadurka.
The next meeting will be a work session on Monday May 17, 2021 at 7:00PM.
