Regular Meeting Minutes of the Fountain City Common Council
Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Ben Adank. Roll call: Christine Williamson, Barb Schmidtknecht,
Peter Schaffner, Stephen Qualy, Scott Feraro, and David Endres, present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion B. Schmidtknecht, second S. Qualy to approve the minutes from Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Motion carried.
Motion C. Williamson, second by P. Schaffner to approve the operator licenses for Finnbar Mc Laughlin, Averi Cash,
Gabrielle Quigley and Skyler Bedtka. Motion carried.
Announcement: Council will be acting on the codification of Chapter 35 Outdoor and Refuse Burning at the September
10, 2025 council meeting and a copy of the proposed codification ordinance and chapter will be available for public
inspection at the city clerk’s office.
Motion B. Schmidtknecht, second S. Qualy to approve the Simmon’s Construction change order #2 to install a new AC
unit in the basement to improve cooling and dehumidification. Motion carried, P. Schaffner abstained.
Motion P. Schaffner, second C. Williamson to approve a contract with Cintas to provide uniforms to the public works
department at $53.46 weekly. Motion carried.
Motion P. Schaffner, second C. Williamson to approve payment of the bills as presented. Motion carried.
Motion C. Williamson, second S. Qualy to adjourn at 7:03 pm. Motion carried.
