POLICE/PERSONNEL & HEALTH/SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING November 11, 2025 - 3:00 pm Minutes prepared by: Barb Schmidtknecht The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm by Barb Schmidtknecht. Roll call: David Endres, Peter Schaffner and Barb Schmidtknecht present. Others present: Mayor Ben Adank. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion David, second Barb to approve the minutes of the October 7, 2025 meeting. Motion carried and minutes were approved. No additional discussion or action was necessary on the Employee Handbook updates. The item will be on the next council agenda. The law enforcement contract with Buffalo County is set to expire at the end of the year. We may still need assistance with ordinance violations. Sheriff Osmond will be contacted to review potential options. The 2026 hiring plan was discussed. Consideration will be given to replacing the clerk-treasurer with a city administrator. This position would be paired with a treasurer position and the deputy clerk position would be elevated to clerk. Job descriptions will need to be created. Motion Peter second Barb to adjourn. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 4:13 pm.
