BOH MEETING MINUTES 2/1/2023 Attending Bridget Sweet, Chair Jeff Harris, Vice-Chair Timothy Cochrane Jr., Member In attendance: Bridget Sweet, Chair; Jeff Harris, Vice-Chair; Timothy Cochrane Jr., Member; Cathleen Liberty, Director; Ginny McNeil, Health Agent; Alicia Sullivan, Public Health Nurse; Cassia Montiero, Metacomet Shared Service Grant Epidemiologist; John Robertson, Shared Service Grant Regional Inspector; Steve Sherlock recording and Alan Earls, Franklin Observer Meeting called to order 4:46 pm APPROVAL OF MINUTES  Reading and acceptance of January 4, 2023 minutes. OLD BUSINESS  Sign Bodyworks Regulation NEW BUSINESS Tobacco Permit holder violations Director Liberty noted that a tobacco inspection was conducted and many tobacco permit holder establishments had violations. Because of this, Director Liberty would like to update the tobacco regulations to reflect the states’ tobacco regulations. Tobacco 2023 Sales Regulation restricting the sale of tobacco and vape products Director Liberty gave the board the draft regulations to review for the March meeting. Rescind Chapter 261 Tobacco products Director Liberty noted that the Town Clerk has begun the process of rescinding the regulations. Local Upgrade for 30 Uncas Row Director Liberty gave the board the reason for the local upgrade and noted the Title 5 Contractor supports the upgrade. Vice Chair, Tim Cochrane motioned to accept the local upgrade, member Jeff Harris accepted and Chair, Bridget Sweet 2nd the motion. Roll call vote to accept the local upgrade. Public Health Nurse Update Public Health Nurse Alicia Sullivan updated the board with a public health report for the month of January, 2023. Metacomet Shared Service Grant Epidemiologist Update Cassia Monteiro, Epidemiologist, updated the board with an epidemiologist report for the month of January, 2023. Metacomet Shared Service Grant Inspector Update John Robertson, Regional Inspector, updated the board with a regional inspector report for the month of January 2023. 5) CITIZENS COMMENTARY Alan Earls ask the Epidemiologist where the data for the Health Outcomes website come from. Cassia noted that it came from the CDC and the Census. Chair Sweet also noted that the public health emergency is officially over May 11, 2023. Also noted was the Boars Head prepackaged charcuteree board meat recall. 6) ADJOURNMENT Member, Jeff Harris motions to adjourn, seconded by Chair, Bridget Sweet.
