BOH MEETING MINUTES 5/3/2023 In attendance: Bridget Sweet, Chair; Timothy Cochrane Jr., Vice Chair; Jeffrey Harris, Member; Cathleen Liberty, Director; Ginny McNeil, Health Agent; Alicia Sullivan, Public Health Nurse; John Robertson, Shared Service Grant Regional Inspector; Steve Sherlock recording and Maureen Canesi, Administrative Assistant. Chair, Bridget Sweet called the Meeting to order at 5:00 pm APPROVAL OF MINUTES Vice Chair Cochrane made a motion to accept the BOH Minutes of 4/5/23. Member Harris seconded the motion. Chair Sweet polled the Board and the motion passed unanimously. OLD BUSINESS 2023 Sales Regulations CHECKLIST FOR POLICY DECISIONS Health Director Liberty reviewed the 2023 Sales Regulations Checklist items 3, 13, 16 and 17. The Board asked the Director to invite Sarah McColgan - Tobacco Control Program Director, to the June BOH Meeting to ask more specific questions and get advice on the Checklist items in question. NEW BUSINESS Review Current Permit Options for Food Operations There was much discussion regarding Mobile or Temporary or possibly Catering permits. Health Director Liberty stated that she would be looking into the Towns providing Permits for Catering. Regional Inspector Robertson stated that he would not be in favor of a Catering Permit. He will provide the Health Department with his Mobile Food checklist for reference. Fee for Bodyworks Application Discussion Health Director Liberty spoke with the Town Clerk who suggested that a fee should be required. Question from Chair Sweet: one time fee per establishment or for each practitioner? One fee per establishment. It was decided to add this discussion to the June BOH meeting agenda for further review. Chair Sweet asked about combining Tobacco and Bodyworks Applications together? Discussion of Health Fair on May 24, 2023 Public Health Nurse Sullivan read and reviewed the Flyer for the Health Fair. Metacomet Shared Service Grant Inspector Update Regional Inspector Robertson updated the board with the regional inspector report for the month of April, 2023. Metacomet Public Health Nurse Update Public Health Nurse Sullivan updated the board with the public health report for the month of April, 2023. Metacomet Shared Service Grant Epidemiologist Update Cassia Monteiro, Epidemiologist was not present for this meeting. Report is attached. Director Liberty noted that she and Cassia are on the CHNA’s homeless subcommittee and Cassia has created a website with resources for the community. CITIZENS COMMENTARY Steve Sherlock asked the Board what the date is for the Health Fair: May 24th, 3-6 pm at the Franklin Public Library. ADJOURNMENT Vice Chair Cochrane made a motion to adjourn at 5:50 pm. The motion was seconded by Member Harris. Chair Sweet polled the Board and the motion passed unanimously.
