DUFFY, WARD THREE Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401 Council Work Session June 20, 2024 City Council Bi-Annual Planning Off-Site The Council of the City of Fredericksburg, Virginia held a bi-annual review on Thursday, June 20, 2024, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Executive Plaza, 601 Caroline Street, on the third floor. Council Present. Mayor Kerry P. Devine, Vice-Mayor Charlie L. Frye, Jr. Councilors Timothy P. Duffy, Jonathan A. Gerlach, Jason N. Graham, Jannan W. Holmes and Will B. Mackintosh. Also Present. City Manager Timothy J. Baroody, Assistant City Manager Mark Whitley, Assistant City Manager David Brown, City Attorney Kelly J. Lacey, Assistant City Attorney Dori Martin, Deputy Clerk of Council Brenda Martin and Clerk of Council Tonya B. Lacey. Others Present. Facilitator Tyler St. Clair. City Council Bi-Annual Planning Off-Site. Facilitator Tyler St. Claire opened the session up with a welcome and she reviewed the purpose and goals of the planning session. Team Building: Refreshing Council Relationships and Teamwork. The Council participated in a team building exercise that allowed the Council to appreciate the experiences and values that have shaped them. Brief Overview of Vision/Priority Setting Strategy. Ms. St. Claire discussed the local elected Leadership Model, past retreats 2016, 2018 and 2022 Vision and priority development. See Attachments II thru V for more information. 1  Council Assessment. The City Council evaluated and discussed assets, strengths, needs, interest, and potential initiatives for the City. See Attachments IV for more information. Review Assessment for Council Reflections/Change/Focus. Council broke out in to two groups and gave small group input, thinking and discussion. Affirm/Revise Vision and desired Future States. Ms. St. Clair led the Council in the reading of the Vision and the Desired Future States. The Council had discussions on how they wanted to change the Desired Future States. Adjournment.
