Business Improvement District Board Minutes Noon, September 17 , 2024 152 E. 6th Street 2nd Floor Meeting Room, Fremont Ne 68025 Board Present: Vince O'Conner, Berta Quintero, Brenden Murray, Howard Krasne, Lindi Janulewicz and Tom Coday, Absent: Kevin Main, Roxie Kracl, J J Bixby, Daniel Cech and Sam Heineman, Guests: Tyler Ficken, Jody Sanders, Troy Schaben and Lainey Paquette 1. Meeting was called to order by Chair Tom Coday at 12:18 pm. Roll call was taken. Those present are identified abve, a quorum was determined present. The Chair announced that a copy of the Open Meeting Act was available in the room for inspection. 2. A motion was made by Vince O'Connor and seconded by Howard Krasne to approve the minutes of the August 20th meeting. Motion carried by unanimous vote of 6/0 3. Discussion was held on expanding our Downtown Christmas decorations. A donation was made in the amount of $110,000.00 to purchase install and store six 16 foot Christmas trees. A motion was made by Howard Krasne and seconded by Vince O'Connor to contribute $25,000.00 which is our budgeted amount to complete the Christmas tree package. Motion carried with unanimous vote of 6/0. 4. Troy Schaben Fremont City Engineer discussed the two Downtown archways. Troy stated that work had begun on Military and Main Street to coordinate the installation of the archway with the street lights and all the under underground wiring. The architect is completing the design work and the project could go out for bid in October with completion date of spring of 2025. 5. A discussion was held on the reservacing of the parking lot at Park and 6th Street which will be moved back until 2025. Also discussed was the Kavich parking lot. Troy Schaben stated that the structural engineers are completing inspection and testing of the structure and we may have the results back by the end of the year. 6. MainStreet report was given by Lainey Paquette on upcoming events. The Gallery Walk is October 12, 2024 and Halloween Hysteria is October 17, 2024. Lainey also stated that the Hispanic Festivals was well attended again this year and the festival team are working on improvements for 2025. 7. Motion was made by Beta Quintero and seconded by Brenden Murray to adjourned meeting at 1:15 pm. Motion carried 6/0 vote. Respectfully submitted, Tom Coday
