Minutes Civil Service Commission Meeting June 17, 2019 Chairman Tellatin called the meeting to order at 8:04 am and stated the Open Meeting Act is posted continually for public inspection on the wall. Roll call vote showed Members Steve Tellatin, Dave Pinkall and Dan Weddle present. Also present was Jennifer McDuffee and Fire Chief Todd Bernt. Motion by Member Weddle seconded by Member Pinkall to approve minutes from the December 20, 2018 meeting. Roll call vote: Tellatin, Weddle, Pinkall - Aye. Motion carried. Discussion held regarding Meeting Procedure. Discussion held regarding members’ availability for Fire Lieutenant and Police Officer interviews next month. Motion made by Member Pinkall, seconded by Member Weddle to authorize Chief Elliott and HR Director McDuffee to review and screen Police Officer applications. Motion by Member Weddle seconded by Member Pinkall to go into Executive Session at 8:19 am for the purpose of evaluation of the job performance of a person to prevent the needless injury to the reputation of a person and for the further reason that the executive session is necessary for the protection of the public interest. The Chairman stated a motion had been made and seconded to go into executive session for the reason that the executive session is necessary for the protection of the public interest. The Chairman asked for any discussion. The Chairman stated the pending motion was to go into executive session for the reason the executive session is necessary for the protection of the public interest. Roll call vote: Tellatin, Weddle, Pinkall - Aye. Motion carried. A motion to go into executive session for the reason that the executive session is necessary for the protection of the public interest has been approved. Discussion will be limited to interviews. No official actions or votes will be taken during the executive session. Commission conducted interviews of Firefighter Candidates. Motion by Member Pinkall, seconded by Member Weddle to go out of Executive Session at 11:00 am. Roll call vote: Tellatin, Weddle, Pinkall - Aye. Motion carried. Motion to adjourn at 11:01 am by Member Weddle, seconded by Member Pinkall. Roll call vote: Tellatin, Weddle, Pinkall - Aye. Motion carried.
