Library Board

January 21, 2013 Board Member Larry Jirsak called the meeting to order at 4:07 p.m. in the library board room with the following members present: Larry Jirsak and Jan Therien. Also present was Director Janet Davenport. Board Members absent: Connie Schmeichel, Janet Jelkin and Jenice Wolfe. The meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the Fremont Tribune and Radio KHUB and the agenda displayed in the municipal building, the Keene Memorial Library, online at www.fremontne.gov/library and distributed and emailed to the Library Board members on January 18, 2013 and is open to the public. A copy of the open meeting law is posted continually for public inspection and is located near the entrance to the Board Room. Approval of Minutes - Lacking a quorum the minutes will be approved at the next scheduled meeting. Unfinished Business – Strategic Planning – Ms. Davenport handed out a copy of a draft of the Columbus (NE) Public Library Strategic plan to members present as an example of what we are seeking to achieve. New Business – Suggestions for New Board Member – Members present suggested a few names of people who might be interested in serving on the Board. Ms. Davenport will communicate with the Mayor in regard to recommendations. Reports - Director’s Report: Ms. Davenport answered questions related to her report e-mailed in advance to the Board.
