Joint Meeting of Park & Recreation Board and Library Board Monday November 8, 2021, 7 pm City Hall – City Council Chambers, second floor Minutes Held at City Hall in the City Council Chambers. Mayor Joey Spellerberg called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Roll Call The following members were present for the Library Board: Tom Adamson, Amanda Moenning, Linda McClain, LeAnn Rathke and Becky Pence. The following members were present for the Parks & Recreation Board: Connie Giese, Daniel Moran, Dian Christensen Hillis and Wendy Eairleywine. Aaron Paden and Ashley Washburn were absent. Also present was Laura England- Biggs, Library Director, Nick Hansen, Parks & Recreation Director and Nate Schwanke, Recreation Supervisor. Brian Newton, City Administrator and Shane Wimer Assistant City Administrator were also present as guests. Senior Office Associate at the library Tracy Parr will be recording the meeting minutes. Notice of Meeting and Agenda The meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the Fremont Tribune and the agenda is posted in the Administration Office at Keene Memorial Library, 1030 North Broad Street as well at City Hall located at 400 E Military Avenue in the Park & Recreation Office, and online at www.fremontne.gov and distributed by email. A copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted continually for public inspection and is located near the entrance of the meeting room. New Business Discussion of relocation for Library during its expansion project Mayor Spellerberg started the meeting by expressing his appreciation of the Library and Park & Recreation Boards for all that they do on a regular basis. Then he opened things up to the Park & Recreation Board to discuss their concerns. The Boards shared their thoughts and feelings with each other and agreed that transparency and open communication were important moving forward. With no further business, motion to adjourn was made at 8:04 p.m. with Library Board Member Adamson making the motion and Library Board Member Moenning seconding it, Park & Recreation Board Member Giese making the motion and Park & Recreation Board Member Moran seconding it. Library Board Ayes: Adamson, Moenning, McClain, Rathke and Pence. Motion Carried. Park & Recreation Board Ayes: Giese, Moran, Christensen Hillis and Eairleywine.
