Roll Call Present 3 - Vice Chair Jack Tracy, Board Member Lynda Snauffer, and Board Member Dean Eller Absent 2 - Chair Michael McDonald, and Board Member Elba Gomez Board Counsel, Craig Meredith, was present and represented the Board. Also present were Acting Secretary Designee, Karnell Grijalva, and Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi. The Board convened into Closed Session at 9:02am. 2. New Business A. Schedule Meeting(s) to Conduct a Public Employee Discipline Appeal Hearing [Pursuant to Fresno Municipal Code Section 3-284] Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, informed the Board that a Modification Agreement had been reached by the City and the Appellant. No action was necessary. 3. Old Business A. Closed Session - Continued Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release [Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954] City of Fresno ***Subject to Mayoral Veto Page 1 Civil Service Board Meeting Minutes May 1, 2019 On motion of Board Member Eller, seconded by Board Member Snauffer, that the above Action Item be approved as amended and returned signed. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Vice Chair Tracy, Board Member Snauffer and Board Member Eller Absent: 2 - Chair McDonald and Board Member Gomez Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, was present on behalf of the Appointing Authority. Neither the Appellant or Representative were present. 4. Hearing on Appeal A. Closed Session - Continued Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release [Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954] On motion of Board Member Snauffer, seconded by Board Member Eller, that the above Action Item be withdrawn. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Vice Chair Tracy, Board Member Snauffer and Board Member Eller Absent: 2 - Chair McDonald and Board Member Gomez Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, was present on behalf of the Appointing Authority. Neither the Appellant and Representative were present. At 9:12am the Board reconvened into Open Session and the decisions of the Board were announced in accordance with the Brown Act. 5.
