CALL TO ORDER

2 Parks and Recreation Monthly Report regarding Park and Trail Development,
Facilities, Special Events and Youth Development.
No update on the monthly report was provided to the Committee.

Consent Agenda can be acted upon in one motion. A majority of the Board is required to remove any item for
discussion and separate action. Board members may vote nay on any single item without comment and may submit
written comments as part of the official record.)
3 Consider and act upon approval of Minutes.
A April 1, 2019 Meeting of the Bicycle Advisory Committee.
Secretary Sherry Owens moved to approve April 1, 2019 Regular Meeting of
the Frisco Bicycle Advisory Committee. Board Member Gerryl Krilic
seconded.

Secretary Sherry Owens moved to approve June 3, 2019 Regular Meeting of
the Frisco Bicycle Advisory Committee. Board Member Gerryl Krilic

REGULAR AGENDA
4 Introduction of new members.
New Board Members Al Brodie, Christine Saville, and Andy Short were formerly
introduced to the Committee. New Board Member Hamlin Jones was unable to
attend.
5 Update by Staff on the Frisco mountain bike trail.
Park Planner Dennis Williams provided the Committee with an update on the
design and future development of a new mountain bike trail with more details at
a later date. The Board agreed to defer this item until the next Bicycle Advisory
Meeting (October 2019).
6 Update by Staff on the Hike and Bike master plan.
Traffic Engineer Robert Caskey provided information on the details of the Hike
and Bike Master plan and that it would be put on the next Council Agenda. His
goal is to get maps approved and give Council enough familiarity with the plan
so that they feel comfortable enough to give an approval August 6th.
7 Update by Staff of on-street bike counts.
Traffic Engineer Robert Caskey distributed maps summarizing how many bike
users were counted on Parkwood Blvd. and other designated areas. Robert
Caskey also discussed the possibility of using pedestrian counters in
conjunction with on street cyclist.
8 Update by Staff on 2020 Bicycle Friendly Community Application.
Traffic Engineer Robert Caskey updated the committee that the City of Frisco
now owns the rights to their Bicycle Friendly Community bronze medal sign and
will be able to start placing signs with this logo. The Board agreed to defer any
further discussion on this item until the next Bicycle Advisory Meeting (October
2019).
9 Discussion on the mission and purpose of the Bicycle Agenda Committee.
The Committee members asked for the current mission statement so that they
can review and evaluate. A future discussion would be required to determine if a
change would be necessary.
10 Discussion on updating/enhancing the Hike and Bike Frisco webpage.

Staff will consult with the Parks and Recreation Marketing Coordinator, Jan
Jackson on what can be done to update/enhance the Hike and Bike Frisco
webpage. Further discussion on this item will be deferred until the next Bicycle
Advisory Meeting (October 2019).
11 Discussion on increasing awareness and participation of biking in Frisco
children.
Board Member Al Brodie provided information describing partnership programs
between schools and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association that can
be used to help promote biking in the youth of Frisco.
12 Discussion of bicycle racks for City, FISD, parks, retail and corporate locations.
The Board agreed to defer this item until the next Bicycle Advisory Meeting
(October 2019).
13 Recommendations for future Agenda topics.
None

Pursuant to City of Frisco Ordinance Number 01-04-29 all speakers other than City of Frisco Staff are limited to five (5) minutes per
item except by prior consent of the Bicycle Advisory Committee.
