MINUTES
REGULAR SESSION
1. Call to Order/Roll Call
The Frisco Sports Council was called to order at 6:35 p.m.

CONSENT AGENDA
3. Consider and act upon approval of the Minutes from the July 14, 2010 Frisco
Sports Council Meeting.
FASST moved to approve the Minutes from the July 14, 2010 Frisco Sports
Council Meeting. FBSA seconded the Motion. Motion carried. Vote: 7-0
REGULAR AGENDA
4. Consider and upon reconsideration of a recommendation to approve the Frisco
Heat Track Club as a member of the Frisco Sports Council.
John Evans informed the members of the situation with the Frisco Heat Track
Club in regards to the required paperwork that has not been submitted to
complete the process of membership into the FSC. The FSC members voted to
table this item and discuss this situation at the next FSC meeting.
5. Update by Staff and discussion by the Frisco Sports Council regarding the use
of the new Fun Guide Advertising Agreement for the Frisco Sports Council.
The FSC members stated their appreciation with the Fun Guide Advertising
Agreement and reviewed the details. John Evans asked them to contact Jami
Jensen with their specific requests for submitting information and advertising
future league registrations, tournaments, and special events in the Fun Guide.
6. Discussion by Staff and the Frisco Sports Council regarding participation in an
October Breast Cancer Awareness Frisco PINK OUT in October.
Gayla Cruikshank and Mary Frances Hoover presented information on behalf of
the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The FSC members decided that each
Association will contact Gayla and Mary Frances to confirm their status for a
specific date and event that will involve a fund-raiser for the Foundation.
7. Staff Report on Park Development Projects identified in 2010 and their status.
Eddie Camacho presented an update on the new sod at Phillips Park and stated
that they are in the final stages of completion with the project. He also stated
that the recent addition of the practice areas at Bacchus Park has been
completed. The leagues are very appreciative of the extra space.

8. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of Frisco Amateur Summer
Swim Team

Trent Emmons provided an update of the summer season for the swim team as
they participated in the TAAF Summer Games of Texas in Waco on August 6-8,
with over 100 swimmers competing in the event. The Fall session started this
week and will continue to December.
9. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of Frisco Aquatics
Tracy Methric provided an update on the summer season, which included over
200 swimmers who competed in regional and state meets.
10. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of Frisco Athletic Network
Arneva Martin mentioned the summer volleyball camps went very well and
thanked John Evans for coordinating the summer dates at the FAC. Arneva
stated that she is very pleased with the number of girls that registered for the
Fall Volleyball League. There are 620 girls registered from Grades 1-8.
11. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of Frisco Baseball and
Softball Association
Ed Taylor mentioned the increase in the number of participants for the Fall
league, as practices began in early August. League games begin on Saturday,
September 11.
12. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of Frisco Football League
Matt Nelson provided an update for the Fall League as registration concluded in
June and includes 1800 players. Practices began on August 14 and league
games begin on Saturday, September 11.
13. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of the Frisco Lacrosse
Association
Jason Gildea provided an update on the Fall League registration, which
concluded on August 10. He mentioned the increase of participants for the Fall
League is at 210. League games are scheduled to begin on Sunday,
September 12. He also mentioned the success of the fund-raising golf
tournament in August that resulted in positive revenue and proceeds for the
FLA.
14. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of the Miracle League of
Frisco
Steve Johnson mentioned the summer season was very successful for the
Miracle League and that they are looking forward to the Fall season that begins
on Saturday, September 18.

15. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of Frisco Soccer
Association
Francois Conde-Jahn stated that the Fall league registration reached a record #
of 5900 players registered. The league games begin on Saturday, September
11. He also reported the new by-laws/rules would be in effect with the upcoming
Fall league/season and will include the new 4U age division. Caroline Williams
received the Referee of the Year award and Chad Unger received the Coach of
the Year award for FSA.
16. Monthly Report on the Registration and Participation of City of Frisco Parks and
Recreation Department
John Evans, Athletic Coordinator, provided an update on the Summer Adult
Leagues that concluded in August as awards were distributed to the league
winners in Adult Softball, Men’s Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, and Adult
Tennis. The Fall Adult Leagues begin in early September. He also mentioned
the success of the summer sports camps, which included youth tennis,
volleyball, and basketball.

17. Notice of upcoming special events possibly having an effect on Sports Council
activities.
John Evans mentioned the NFL Punt, Pass, & Kick Contest, scheduled for
Saturday, October 2 at Bacchus Park. He stated that he will forward the
information to all of the FSC members. He also mentioned the Mother/Son
Dance that is scheduled for Saturday, October 9 and will also forward the
information/flyer to all members.
18. Miscellaneous discussion of future agenda items.
Arneva and John reminded all members of the date for submitting
information to Jami Jensen to be included in the Fun Guide.
ADJOURN
With all business before the Frisco Sports Council concluded, a motion was made by the
FBSA to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 p.m. FSA seconded the Motion. Motion carried.
Vote: 7-0
