CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Rick Travis called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

REPORTS
2. Parks and Recreation Monthly Report regarding Park and Trail Development,
Natural Resources, Facilities, and Special Events and Youth Development.
Mr. Diamond provided an update on the August Parks and Recreation monthly
scheduled activities, which included: Forestation, Mitigation and Operations at
various parks and locations.
CONSENT AGENDA
(Items placed on the Consent Agenda are considered routine in nature and are considered non-controversial. The
Consent Agenda can be acted upon in one motion. A majority of the Board is required to remove any item for
discussion and separate action. Board members may vote nay on any single item without comment and may submit
written comments as part of the official record.)
3. Consider and act upon the approval of the July 24, 2019 Regular Meeting of the
Urban Forestry Board Meeting Minutes.
Vice Chairman Alan Mesches moved to approve the July 24, 2019 Urban
Forestry Board Meeting Minutes. Board Member Don Fesh seconded the
motion.

REGULAR AGENDA
4. Natural Resources Division Update.
Mr. Witt updated the Board on the various activities within the Natural
Resources Division. These include: The Community Garden, Mayor's Huddle,
Wildlife Conference in Plano, UNT Research Options, Park and Prairie Study
Potential, 1135 Path Erosion Project.
5. Discussion regarding FY20 Outreach Plans.
The Board discussed having more trail walks, in conjunction with Natural
Resources in FY20.
6. Discussion regarding preparation for Councilman Bill Woodard's visit to the
September 25, 2019 Board Meeting.

The Board discussed preparations for Council Bill Woodard's attendance at the
next meeting and updated the current outline of their presentation.
7. Update on the "Champion Tree" Project.
Board Member Don Fesh updated the Board on the progress of the nominations
for the "Champion Tree".
8. Discussion regarding the Arborfest Event on October 26, 2019.
The Board discussed preparation for the Arborfest Event on October 26, 2019.
These include tree selection, installation of tree-value signs, tree walk and
picture taking.

Vice Chairman Alan Mesches moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 p.m. Board
Member Amiee Fuller seconded the motion.

Pursuant to City of Frisco Ordinance Number 01-04-29 all speakers other than City of Frisco Staff are limited to five (5) minutes per
item except by prior consent of the Urban Forestry Board.
