POLICY SESSION – CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY BUSINESS: 11. CONSENT AGENDA: (These items are considered by the City Council to be routine. If discussion is desired on any particular item it may be removed from the consent agenda and considered separately.) ACTION ITEM APPROVAL – These items need action from the Mayor and City Council. 12. Approve/Deny 2018 Road Maintenance Bids and Contract: BACKGROUND: On May 30, 2018 Fruit Heights City opened bids for the 2018 road maintenance projects. As a City staff, we recommend TO THE City Council that the bid be awarded to Staker and Parsons Companies in the amount of $454,538.80 13. Approve/Deny recommendations from the Parks Committee for Castle Park Improvements/Upgrades BACKGROUND: City Council Member Diane Anderson has been working with a parks committee on design options and recommendations for the Castle Park area of Nicholls Park. City Council to provide input/direction on the project to keep it moving forward. 14. Approve/Deny holding a Truth in Taxation Hearing for the Budget Year 2018-2019 BACKGROUND: Property Taxes are Fruit Heights City’s primary source of revenue, each year the tax rate decreases which affects the amounts that the City receives from year to year. Because the City relies heavily on property tax, it is important that the City adjust the certified tax rate to insure that the City continues collecting adequate revenue to fund the City’s General Fund. 15. FY 2017-2018 Review Budget Adjustments BACKGROUND: At the end of each fiscal year there are adjustments that need to be made to insure that the budget complies with State Law and the Office of the State Auditor. It is common to make adjustments to the budget to account for increased revenues and expenditures. The City Council need to review these adjusted amounts and approve those adjustments. 16. Approve/Deny Public Entity Resolution, Office of the State Treasurer: BACKGROUND: State Law requires that the Mayor and City Council approve a the Public Entity Resolution allowing the City Manager and the City Treasurer the ability to access and maintain the State PTIF Account. 1. INFORMATION ITEMS/UPCOMING EVENTS: • Adopt FY 2018-2019 Budget/ June 19, 2018 • Founders Day Celebration/August 4, 2018 • Tour of Utah Bike Race, August 9, 2018 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS – The public may address the Mayor regarding issues that are not on the agenda. We ask that you please limit your comments to 3 minutes. No action may be taken on any item not on the agenda 3. CITY STAFF REPORTS - This time is set aside to update the City Council on City Projects that City Staff is working on. These projects include Public Works Projects and Administrative Projects. • Public Works • City Engineer • City Planner • City Manager 4. ELECTRONIC MEETING: By motion of the Fruit Heights City Council, Elected Officials and City Staff can participate in regularly scheduled meetings via electronic media when approved by the Mayor. 19. CLOSED MEETING: By motion of the Fruit Heights City Council, pursuant to Title 52, Chapter 4 of the Utah Code, the City Council may vote to hold a closed meeting for any of the purposes identified in that chapter. 20.
