CALL TO ORDER - Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, Roll Call Gahanna City Council met in Regular Session on Monday, April 2, 2018, in Council Chambers of City Hall, 200 South Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio. President of Council, Brian D. Larick, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Vice President of Council, Jamie Leeseberg, delivered an Invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Dave Ferguson, 7318 Berkley Square S., New Albany; here to introduce himself as a candidate for State Representative District 19; has been a Trustee with Plain Township; works for AEP; has been here for 20 years; has 4 children and has been married for 30 years; have attended many churches in Gahanna; we need more business people at the general assembly; believes he has the skillset needed; will represent with integrity; hope to meet you individually; trying to meet as many people as he can. ORD-0026-2018 TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH LAW GENERAL CONTRACTING FOR THE LARRY LANE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, ST-1050 AND PIZZURRO PARK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, ST-1042. This Ordinance was Introduced. ORD-0027-2018 SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Grant Awards This Ordinance was Introduced. ORD-0028-2018 TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN ADDENDUM CONTRACT WITH THE GAHANNA CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU (CVB) FOR THE OHIO HERB EDUCATION CENTER MANAGEMENT SERVICES. Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) - Angelou Angelou said we have an executive committee this Thursday and regular commission next Thursday and then State of the Region the following Thursday. Gahanna-Jefferson Board of Education - Metzbower No report. Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) - Renner Renner reminded everyone about the Visit Gahanna Ambassador program and the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival volunteer kick-off event. M. OFFICIAL REPORTS: Mayor Mayor Tom Kneeland said we have 13 active projects; there is a mix of projects occurring with a large capital investment; development team have completed several projects, creating more jobs; seeing some investment - always good to see that; had 5 business visits this year; making our rounds again to revisit some of those bigger folks that need more attention; we launched our job development portal on the website; said there is an Area Commission Meeting on April 19th regarding a project in the 4500 block of N Hamilton near Giant Eagle. COUNCIL COMMENT Metzbower congratulated Mayor on State of the City; Angelou said ditto; City of Gahanna Page 4 City Council Meeting Minutes April 2, 2018 was really terrific; asked that Niel and Laurie also be thanked; Renner said ditto; was a really good event; Leeseberg said on the 23rd, attended Mifflin Township retirement party; glad to be invited.
