Larick Absent 1 - Jamie Leeseberg PENDING LEGISLATION ORD-0065-2018 TO AMEND SECTION 161.081, CREDIT FOR TAX PAID TO ANOTHER MUNICIPALITY, OF CHAPTER 161, INCOME TAX, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, RELATED TO THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA AT THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 6, 2018, AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 75-76, PASSED AUGUST, 1976, SO AS TO INCREASE THE GAHANNA INCOME TAX FROM A RATE OF ONE AND ONE-HALF (1.5%) PERCENT TO A RATE OF TWO AND ONE-HALF (2.5%) PERCENT. Larick requested any discussion and stated passed legislation with the timeline a couple of weeks ago; legislation is still ongoing; two public hearings have been held and another one is scheduled next week. Recommendation: Public Hearing at Regular Council Meeting on August 20, 2018. ITEMS FROM THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE & ENGINEERING ORD-0076-2018 TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF COLUMBUS FOR SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL FOR THE 2018-2019 WINTER SEASON. City of Gahanna Page 1 Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes August 13, 2018 Priestas said the city provides snow and ice removal for the City of Columbus; on approximately 10 miles of streets; the calculation is $760/lane mile; the payment covers cost weather depended. Recommendation: Introduction, Consent Agenda. SR-0003-2018 TO DECLARE THE NECESSITY AND INTENT TO APPROPRIATE REAL ESTATE IN CONNECTION WITH THE HEIL DRIVE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT; IMPROVEMENT NO. ST 1047. Priestas said the bridge on Heil Drive over Sycamore Run needs replaced; as part of the project it requires four temporary easements to replace the structure. Recommendation: Introduction; Consent Agenda. ITEM FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY ORD-0075-2018 SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Reimbursements of legal funds to Special Counsel Ewald is requesting a supplemental to cover several items that were unexpected; this includes two Home Rule appeals; cell tower, HB49 and unexpected labor issues; Larick requested to know if there is the likelihood of any additional supplemental request; Ewald doesn’t expect any additional supplemental needs.
