Present 7 - Brian Metzbower, Nancy R. McGregor, Karen J. Angelou, Stephen A. Renner, Jamie Leeseberg, Michael Schnetzer, and Brian D. Larick FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATES Chief Kauser provided an update on fire operations from 9/20-10/21. Mr. Schnetzer asked what is the definition of a “working fire”. Chief Kauser said sometimes we show up and pull off a fire extinguisher, there’s some smoke; we have those every day. A working fire, we send 6 companies to fight the fire, it’s a bad fire. Mrs. Angelou asked what causes these fires. Chief Kauser said it’s a combination of things. Most of the multi-family fires, if it’s 20 years or older it doesn’t have sprinklers, but the newer builds do. The key is early detection. Unlike 10 years ago, these are plastics, explosive fires. By the time the detector goes off, you’re out of time. Early detection is key. PENDING LEGISLATION ORD-0084-2018 TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RUMPKE WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICES, FOR 2020 RECYCLING TIPPING/PROCESSING FEES FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA. Ms. Franey said, I originally stated that the contract was one year with three, one-year renewals. In fact, it is a two-year contract with two, one-year renewals. The wording has been modified for substitution on the consent agenda. No discussion. RECOMMENDATION: 2ND READING, CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS FROM THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND ENGINEERING ORD-0086-2018 SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Fleet Program Auction Proceeds. Mr. Crawford said we are requesting our standard quarterly supplementals for Fleet, Insurance, and Water Meters. RECOMMENDATION: CONSENT AGENDA ORD-0087-2018 SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION- Insurance Claim Proceeds. RECOMMENDATION: CONSENT AGENDA ORD-0088-2018 SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Water Meter Proceeds. RECOMMENDATION: CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS FROM COUNCIL OFFICE MR-0042-2018 THIS COUNCIL HAS NO OBJECTION TO TRANSFER THE LIQUOR PERMITS FROM SUPER CHEFS BREAKFAST AND MORE LLC, DBA SUPER CHEFS BREAKFAST AND MORE, 1344 CHERRY BOTTOM RD & PATIO, GAHANNA, OHIO 43230, TO BRYSON RESTAURANT GROUP LLC, DBA SUPER CHEFS, 1344 CHERRY BOTTOM RD & PATIO, GAHANNA, OHIO 43230. No objection from the Police Department.
