Larick, Brian Metzbower, and Jamie Leeseberg PENDING LEGISLATION 2018 BUDGET DISCUSSION ORD-0102-2017 TO MAKE APPROPRIATIONS FOR CURRENT EXPENSES AND OTHER EXPENDITURES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, OHIO DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2018. Leeseberg said page 159, AV upgrade to Council Chambers; shows $80K; Banning said discussed prior to meeting; new quotes coming in; total amount will be $40K; Court will pay $10K; $30K from Capital Needs; that will need adjusted; Larick confirmed it will be reflected; Metzbower asked about page 60; random $2K administrative service charge; curious what that was; Teal said when we first began the LEAN Gahanna program, we contemplated the idea we might travel for that; we have not done that; we have provided training in house to outside agencies; not proposing a line item for that; Larick asked how many people have traveled outside for that; Teal said three; Metzbower asked about page 70, do already do a CAFR, asked for explanation; Bury said easier report to put out; other cities that do them, Upper Arlington for example; said it is a standardized document, is not as strict; includes information from the CAFR; Metzbower said is a good idea; wondered about staff time; Bury said people more prone to look at this report; do City of Gahanna Page 1 Finance Committee Meeting Minutes December 4, 2017 the CAFR so we already do the preparation; Metzbower said done in house in 2013, would there be an advantage to having that approved; Bury said just an additional cost; we have the skills to do in house; Schnetzer said the CAFR can be several pages; what is typical size for this report; Bury said usually something you can mail out; 10-20 pages; Larick said sent an email to administration in regard to capital reductions that came out today; will send follow up; small item in regard to pools; original notation would be a savings of $3K a year; last week discussion did not match up; need better understanding.
