CALL MEETING TO ORDER Piccolantonio, Chair called the September 6, 2017 Parks & Recreation Board meeting to order at 6:58pm. B. ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Cynthia Franzmann, Eric Miller, Andy Piccolantonio, Jan Ross, Ken Shepherd, Sarah Mill and Daphne Moehring C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2017-0187 PR minutes 8-2-2017 Motion was made by Ross, seconded by Shepherd to approve the minutes from the August 2, 2017 meeting. The motion carried b y the following vote: Yes: 7- Franzmann, Miller, Piccolantonio, Ross, Shepherd, Mill and Moehring D. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA Ross - New Business - donation request from the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation. E. HEARING OF VISITORS Mr. & Mrs. Hoffman, Gahanna residents attended the meeting to observe. F. OLD BUSINESS Nothing at this time City of Gahanna Page 1 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes September 6, 2017 G. NEW BUSINESS a. GPRF Donation Request Motion was made by Ross, seconded by Miller, to approve the donation of a shelter and GMAC rental, Creekside/Herb Center gift basket and a Family Pool Membership. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 7- Franzmann, Miller, Piccolantonio, Ross, Shepherd, Mill and Moehring b. 2018 Budget Barr shared the departments 2018 Budget request and projected revenue. The Finance Department will present the final budget request to Council. c. 2018 Capital Needs Barr shared the 2018 Capital request with the Board. The Finance Department will present the final Capital request to Council. H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS Nothing at this time I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT 2017-0189 Director's Report-August Barr shared updates from each division. Barr stated that staff has been rewriting the Departments Fee Policy. The Policy is currently being reviewed by the Mayor and City Administrator. The Policy will be discussed at the next meeting. J. COMMITTEE REPORT'S a. Aquatics Advisory Committee Nothing at this time c. Gahanna Active Senior Advisory Committee 2017-0188 8-16-17 ASAC Minutes City of Gahanna Page 2 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes September 6, 2017 Miller shared that the Seniors are having a Fundraiser on September 13th at the Center. Tickets are $20 which includes food and entertainment. b. Bicycle & Trail Advisory Committee (BTAC) There was not a meeting in August. The next meeting is September 25, 2017. d. Natural Resources Advisory Committee Barr shared the committee met with EHM&T to discuss the environmental impact of the Big Walnut Trail, Section 4. e. Veteran's Advisory Committee The deadline to purchase bricks for the November 11th dedication is October 1st. K. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT Miller wanted to know what is planned for the park land on Hamilton Road beside Parc Crossing. a. Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation Ross shared Hops & Vines is on September 23rd. Volunteers are still needed for the event. b. School Board Report Moehring shared that the new School Treasurer will start on October 10th. The start of the school year was very successful. L.
