CALL MEETING TO ORDER Vice-Chair Donna Simmons called the meeting to order at 6:59 pm . B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2021-0259 PB Minutes 11.10.21 A motion was made by Shepherd, seconded by McGinn, that the Minutes be Approved. HEARING OF VISITORS- NONE F. OLD BUSINESS- NONE G. NEW BUSINESS i. Gahanna-Jefferson Foundation Donation Request The Gahanna- Jefferson Education Foundation has requested a donation of one (1) family of five (5) pool membership, four (4) Gahanna Municipal Golf Course Passes, one (1) GMAC rental, and a four (4) hour shelter rental for their annual gala. A motion was made by McGinn, seconded by Shepherd, that the request be Approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4- Simmons, Miller, McGinn and Shepherd Abstain, COI: 1- Lofton Absent: 2- Ross and Kaminski ii. Bicycle and Trail Committee Patricia Kovacs has been working closely with the Bicycle & Trail Committee to update Gahanna City Ordinance Chapters 301, 331, 371, 373, 377 so they reflect recent changes to the Ohio Revised Code. Kovacs brought forward to the Board recommended changes; document attached. After a brief discussion, Kovacs requested the Board email her recommended changes by January 31, 2022. 2022-0007 Bicycle & Trails Committee H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS- NONE I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT 2021-0252 Director's Report Projects Coordinator Alan Little supplied the Board with the Director’s Report for December, document attached. Little advised that the parks team is in the process of winterizing all the public bathrooms within the City’s parks as well as closing the Golf Course for the season. The Department of Public Health approved the Splash Pad plans on November 23rd, so construction will be starting soon. Alan advised the City of Gahanna Page 2 Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes December 8, 2021 parking lot at Woodside Green is slated to get done in 2022, however, the park will need to close for a month during construction. Bids for the project will begin on January 28, 2022. Miller asked how many more parking spots will be added with this project and Little answered that he expects around 15-22. J. COMMITTEE REPORTS i. Bicycle & Trail Advisory Committee (BTAC) ii. Gahanna Active Senior Advisory Committee (GASAC)- NONE iii. Natural Resources Advisory Committee (NRAC) K. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT- NONE i. Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation Miller explained that at their last meeting, the Foundation had representatives from Gahanna-Jefferson schools attend to present their plans for their facilities to see how the Foundation could partner with the schools to help facilitate projects for the community, or a community center. ii. School District Update Lofton advised that they have broken ground on Highpoint and Blacklick Elementary schools and continue to work through their current projects. iii.
