COUNCIL COMMITTEE AGENDA
March 14, 2023
DEPARTMENT: Gallatin IDB AGENDA# 5
SUBJECT:
Resolution Authorizing the Charter Amendment of the Industrial Development Board of the City of
Gallatin and Providing for Its Authority
SUMMARY:
State law requires a minimum of seven Directors be seated on an Industrial Development Board to
take certain actions. There are times when the IDB has items for action, but cannot vote because a
vacancy has occurred and no replacement seated. Thus, the board is not meeting the minimum
requirement of seven seated Directors. Expanding the IDB to nine Directors would allow the Board
to conduct those certain business items as long as there are seven seated Directors. With nine
Directors, there could be one or two vacancies and business still continue.
