Before being eligible for those opportunities a community needs to have a Safety Action Plan that covers the City. Fortunately this is an eligible project with the SS4A funds as well. A Safety Action Plan would be used to establish a set of policies and processes that would be used to identify and determine which projects would best serve the community. R24Ø7-59 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF GALLATIN TO APPLY FOR A SAFER STREETS FOR ALL (SS4A) GRANT WHEREAS, the City of Gallatin requests City Council approval to apply for the Safer Streets for All (SS4A) grant to build a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan; and WHEREAS, the cost of the grant shall not exceed $300,000.00, the Safer Streets for All (SS4A) grant would provide $250,000.00 which is 80% of the total cost, and the City of Gallatin must match 20% of the cost, not to exceed $50,000.00; and WHEREAS, any engineer service related grant expenditures shall be contingent upon approval of the City of Gallatin’s Safer Streets for All (SS4A) Grant application. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF GALLATIN, TENNESSEE, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City of Gallatin to apply for the Safer Streets for All (SS4A) grant; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if awarded the Safer Streets for All (SS4A) grant, the City of Gallatin is committed to matching the requested funds of up to $50,000.00, which represents 20% of the total project costs; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Gallatin will make necessary allocations in the budget to fund these expenditures; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF GALLATIN, TENNESSEE, that this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the public welfare requiring such. Code Ann. § 6-54-501 the following sections of Gallatin Municipal Code, Chapter 5, Buildings and Building Regulations are hereby amended as follows: (1) Article III. Building Standards. Sec. 5-56. Code adopted, is amended by: (a) Replacing the words “2018 edition” wherever they appear with the words “2024 edition, excluding appendices”. (2) Sec. 5-58. Amendments to International Building Code, is amended by replacing the words “2018 edition” wherever they appear with the words “2024 edition”. It is also amended by deleting subsections (a)(4) through (a)(13) in their entirety and replacing those subsections with the following: (a) The following amendments to the International Building Code are hereby adopted: (4) Section 903.1 General is amended to read: "Automatic sprinkler systems shall comply with this section and Gallatin Municipal Code 9-74, and where there is a conflict between the International Fire Code, International Building Code, International Residential Code or any NFPA requirements, the most stringent shall apply." (5) Section 903.2.1.1 Group A-1 is amended by replacing “12,000 square feet with "3,500 square feet" in item #1. (6) Section 903.2.1.2 Group A-2 is amended by replacing “5,000 square feet with 3,500 square feet” item #1. (7) Section 903.2.1.3 Group A-3 is amended by replacing “12,000 square feet with "3,500 square feet" in item #1. (8) Section 903.2.1.4 Group A-4 is amended by replacing “12,000 square feet with "3,500 square feet" in item #1. (9) Section 903.2.3 Group E is amended by deleting item #1 in its entirety and replacing it with "Throughout all Group E fire areas." and by deleting the Exception in its entirety. Section 903.2.9 Group S-1 is amended by replacing “12,000 square feet” with “3,500 square feet” in item #1 and by replacing “5,000 square feet” with “3,500 square feet” in item #4. (16) Section 903.2.9.1 repair garages is amended by replacing “10,000 square feet” with “3,500 square feet” in item #1 and by replacing “12,000 square feet” with “3,500 square feet” item #2 and by replacing “5,000 square feet” with “3,500 square feet” in item #4. (17) Section 903.2.10 Group S-2 is amended by deleting the exception under item #2 in its entirety. (18) Section 904.15 Domestic Cooking Facilities sub-section (3) is amended by replacing “Group R-2 college dormitories” with “Group R-2” (19) Chapter 11 Accessibility shall be used in conjunction with the 2010 Edition of the Americans with Disabilities Act for Accessibility Code. (3) Sec. 5-59. Amendments to International Residential Code, is amended by replacing the words “2018 edition” wherever they appear with the words “2024 edition.” It is further amended by deleting subsection (a)(4) in its entirety and adding the following: (a) The following amendments to the International Residential Code are hereby adopted: (4) Section R302.1 Exterior Walls Table R302.1(1) Exterior walls by replacing the minimum fire separation distance for Not fire-resistant rated walls from “> 5 feet” to “k 6 feet”. Table R302.1(1) Exterior Walls is amended by adding footnote (c) "No projections shall be allowed within three (3) feet of the property line." (5) Section R309.2 One-and-Two Family dwellings automatic fire sprinkler systems is amended per T.C.A. 68- 12 I-101(a)(8)(c) by deleting the entire section and i'cplacing it with the following : “Residential sprinkler systems will be required in one-and-two family dwellings if the separation distance between structures is twelve (12) feet or less.” (4) Sec. 5-64. Swimming pool and spa code, is amended by replacing the words “edition 2018” wherever they appear with the words “2024 edition”. Page 51 of 68  (5) Article IV. Plumbing Standards. Sec. 5-86 Plumbing code adopted is amended by replacing the words “2018 edition” wherever they appear with the words “2024 edition”. (6) Article V. Electrical Standards. Sec. 5-115 shall be amended by replacing the words “2017 edition” wherever they appear with the words “2023 edition”. (7) Sec. 5-116. Amendments to International Electrical Code is amended by as follows: (a) The following amendments to the Electrical Code are hereby adopted: (I) Section 334.10 Uses Permitted is amended by deleting items 3, 4, and 5 in their entirety. (8) Article VI. Gas Standards Sec. 5-145 is amended by renaming the section Code adopted and amendments thereto, replacing the words “2018 edition” wherever they appear with the words “2024 edition,” and adding the following: (a)The following amendments to the International Fuel Gas Code are hereby adopted: (1) Section 5-153(a) is amended by adding the following: “This inspection shall include a pressure test at which time the piping shall stand an air pressure equal to twenty-five (25) pounds for at least ten minutes without any perceptible drop.
