Mr. Kenneth Thomson, Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. A copy of the meeting agenda is attached to these minutes as Exhibit A. Item 1: Approve Minutes – September 11, 2018 Historic District Commission Meeting. Ms. Love motioned to approve the minutes from the September 11, 2018, Historic District Commission meeting. Mr. Wilson seconded the motion and the motion passed 4 ayes; 0 nays. Item 2 – Discussion – Randy’s Records on West Main Street – Local Landmark Designation Mr. Shannon Rogers said his group would like to designate Randy’s Record Shop as a local landmark, under State Law. Mr. Rogers said he is speaking for the current owner of the property. Ms. Ogden told Mr. Rogers that he could meet with her to discuss what he needs to apply for local landmark designation. Mr. Rogers said he has collected a lot of history and information about Randy’s Records Shop. He listed some of the accomplishments of the original owner of Randy’s Records and said the property is deserving of local landmark designation. The intent is to make the site a pocket park and museum. He feels the City will be proud of the result. Ms. Ogden explained that Mr. Rogers would need an agent letter with any application for local landmark designation. The applicant would have to go before the Planning Commission and City Council and design guidelines would have to be established. The Historic District Commission would have jurisdiction over the property. An appointment was set between Ms. Ogden and Mr. Rogers. Gallatin Historic District Commission Meeting Minutes 2 October 9, 2018 Ms. Beverly Keel, Chair of Department of Recording Industry, MTSU, Mary Singleton and Johnny Griffin, representing the owner of Randy’s Records, also attended the meeting. Item 3 – Outstanding Historic District Problem Properties There were no issues to report. Item 4 – Woodson Terrace Street Reports There were no issues to report. Item 5 – East Main Street Historic District Street Reports There were no issues to report. Item 6 – Other Business There was no other business to discuss.
