Other Business The next Gallatin Historic District Commission meeting is scheduled for May 14th, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. The submittal deadline for that meeting agenda is Tuesday, April 30th, 2019. Please contact the Gallatin Planning Division at 451-5796 for more information. 132 West Main Street Gallatin, TN 37066-3244 (615) 451-5796 www.gallatinonthemove.com MINUTES OF THE GALLATIN HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION MEETING March 12, 2019 MEMBERS PRESENT STAFF PRESENT Kenneth Thomson, Chair Jillian Ogden, Planner II Thomas Richey, Jr., Vice Chair Marianne Mudrak, Board Secretary Roger Matchett, Secretary Johnny Wilson MEMBERS ABSENT OTHERS Linda Bradley Love Applicants Kim Maltempo, GNRC A regular meeting of the Gallatin Historic District Commission was held on February 12, 2019, in the Engineering Conference Room of Gallatin City Hall. Mr. Kenneth Thomson, Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. A copy of the meeting agenda is attached to these minutes as Exhibit A. Item 1: Approve Minutes – February 12, 2019 Historic District Commission Meeting. Mr. Wilson motioned to approve the minutes of the February 12, 2019, Historic District Commission meeting. Mr. Matchett seconded the motion and the motion passed 4 ayes, 0 nays. Item 2: Certificate of Appropriateness – 421 East Eastland Street – Demolition/Replacement of Garage Ms. Ogden said the applicant requests approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish and rebuild a structurally unsound garage. The new garage will look similar to the current garage. Staff supports the new construction and recommends approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness. Vice Chair Richey motioned to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness with the condition that the pitch of the garage roof be consistent with the current garage roof. Mr. Nick Stratton, applicant, agreed with the condition. Ms. Ogden said the new garage will have to meet current setbacks. Mr. Matchett seconded the motion and the motion passed 4 ayes; 0 nays. Gallatin Historic District Commission Meeting Minutes 2 March 12, 2019 Item 3: Discussion – 615 East Main Street Sidewalk Ms. Ogden said she received a letter from Ms. Elise Williamson informing the Historic District Commission that she would like to use old historic brick from a demolished home in Hendersonville to relay a walkway at 615 East Main Street. The Historic District Commission had previously given Staff the purview to review sidewalk changes. Staff felt this was a nice gesture and wanted to share it with the Commission. Vice Chair Richey said he supports the spirit of Ms. Williamson’s intent. Item 4: Comprehensive Plan Discussion - GNRC Ms. Kim Maltempo with the Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC), presented the City’s Strategic Plan and proposed updates to the Comprehensive Plan. She asked for a volunteer from the Historic District Commission to join the members of other City boards, Department Heads, and citizens working on the plan. The Plan will be a guide for future growth of the City to 2045 and addresses such issues as long range planning, economic development, grants and traffic. Item 5: Outstanding Historic District Problem Properties There were no issues to report. Item 6: Woodson Terrace Historic District Street Reports There were no issues to report. Item 7: East Main Street Historic District Street Reports There were no issues to report. Item 8: Other Business There was no other business to discuss. Item 9: Adjourn Mr. Wilson motioned to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Matchett seconded the motion and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
