CITY OF GALT MINUTES PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS 380 CIVIC DR., GALT CA 95632 MARCH 11, 2020 AT 6:00 P.M. Chairperson: Chris Smith Commission: Ernie Cason, Carrie Graham, Sharlyn Miller, Janice Williams 1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER 6:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: a. Commissioners Present: Williams, Miller, Smith b. Commissioners Absent: Graham, Cason 3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF AGENDA 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may address the commission on non-agenda items. Speakers may also address the commission on any agenda item during consideration of the item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes. Please fill out a speaker sheet located on the table inside the entrances to the council chambers and forward the completed speaker sheet to the commission secretary. Please state your name and city of residence prior to making your comments. a. Jay Vandenberg, no speaker sheet received, commented that he has been to the meetings and the developer is not interested in the sections in green and everything in yellow and purple would go back to Parks & Rec, that means the city doesn’t get any money to make any buildings. 5. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES a. Minutes of the meeting of February 12, 2020. • Commissioner Miller made a motion to accept the February 12, 2020 meeting minutes. • Commissioner Williams made a second to the motion to accept the February 12, 2020 meeting minutes. • All present in favor, minutes approved. 6. PRESENTATIONS 7. OLD BUSINESS 8. NEW BUSINESS a. Market Community Master Plan Update a. Community meeting held 3/9/2020, announced Survey Monkey rolled out. GALT PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AGENDA MEETING OF MARCH 11, 2020 Page 2 b. A second meeting to be held 3/30/2020 at Chabolla Center to discuss results of survey. 9. UPCOMING COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS 10. UPCOMING EVENTS a. March to Health – 3/24/2020 b. Eggstravaganza – 4/4/2020 c. Opening Day for T-Ball and Softball – 3/28/2020 11. STAFF COMMENTS a. Director Solis informed the commission that the Parks & Recreation Dept. was notified by the Meals on Wheels coordinator on 3/11/2020, due to the Corona Virus the program will be a meal pick-up only and the café at the Chabolla Center will be closed. The Senior Resource Center also located at the Chabolla Center will be closed due to the Corona Virus starting on 3/11/2020 and going through 4/13/2020. 12. COMMISSIONERS REPORTS/COMMENTS a.
