Chairperson: Erin Saldivar Commission: Ernie Cason Jr., Carrie Graham, John McNamara, Chris Smith 1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER at 6:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: a. Commissioners Present: McNamara, Smith, Saldivar b. Commissioners Absent: Cason, Graham 3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF AGENDA 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may address the Parks and Recreation Commission on non-agenda items. The public comments section is for the Parks and Recreation Commission to receive comments; except for brief response to questions, no discussion or action may be taken on any item that is not listed on the agenda. Please limit comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes. Please fill out a speaker sheet located on the table inside the entrances to the council chambers and forward the completed speaker sheet to the commission secretary. Please state your name and city of residence prior to making your comments. 5. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES a. Minutes of the meeting of July 26, 2023 b. Commissioner Smith made a motion to accept the minutes of the July 26, 2023 Parks and Recreation Commission Special Meeting. c. Commissioner McNamara made a second to the motion to accept the minutes of the July 26, 2023 Parks and Recreation Commission Special Meeting. d. All present in favor, minutes approved. 6. PRESENTATIONS 7. NEW BUSINESS a. Corp Yard Update i. Director Solis updated the commission that City Council voted to make improvements to the Corp Yard. b. Parks Division Staffing i. Director Solis updated the commission that the department was in the process of hiring the 14 new positions. c. Pickle Ball Courts GALT PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AGENDA OF SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 MEETING Page 2 i. Director Solis updated the commission that the Community Park Tennis Court project started 9/11 and should take 3 months to complete. The project will include 4 Pickle Ball courts, 3 Tennis courts and 1 Foosball court. 8. OLD BUSINESS a. Walker Artificial Turf Replacement Project i.
