INFORMATION/CONSENT CALENDAR: A. SUBJECT: Minutes of the April 22, 2021 Regular Meeting. RECOMMENDATION: The Planning Commission approve the minutes of the April 22, 2021 Regular Meeting. 5. SCHEDULED MATTERS: A. SUBJECT: Senate Bill 2 – Galt Planning Grant RECOMMENDATION: Staff is requesting comments and feedback from the Planning Commission. The City of Galt received a grant to look at the potential to up-zone some properties to help jump start housing in Galt. This effort was in anticipation of the 2021-2029 Housing Element Update. There was initial concern that the City would need to rezone more properties to meet our Regional Housing Needs Allocation obligation. This has turned out to not be the case. Primarily staff is looking for any comments or modifications needed to support the effort. B. SUBJECT: Planning Commission discussion and review of past projects, future projects and zoning code design features. Staff is looking for direction from the Planning Commission on what types of projects and designs the City should try to pursue with the development community. Staff is looking to reinforce the direction of growth in this community and what constitutes positive development for this community.
