CITY OF GALT PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES ANTHONY PESCETTI COMMUNITY ROOM 455 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE, GALT, CALIFORNIA Monday, September 25, 2017, 6:00 PM Vice Mayor called the meeting to order at 6:00pm. The roll call found Dahlgren, Lagge, Shelton and Tellyer present. We saluted the American Flag. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION: 1. The minutes of the last meeting were presented to all members. The minutes were approved and carried by unanimous vote. 2. The Committee’s Annual Report was prepared by Lt. Kalinowski and presented to Council. This will be done annually, by the committee. ROUND TABLE: Dahlgren said he saw Lt. Klinowski on television and that he did great. He also said that with the days getting shorter and the rainy season upon us, the faded street markings need attention. The markings on Lincoln Way from Kost Road all the way to Pringle are almost invisible. Clarkson advised he’s look into it. Tellyer brought up traffic/pedestrian concerns in the area of Carillion/Walnut/Elk Hills. Comments about the speeders and pedestrians are showing up on social media. Four Way stops at some of these intersections could help. The Developer of the area is supposed to have an update in the next couple weeks. Lagge added the street markings at Simmerhorn and Lincoln are also faded adding that City workers should be surveying these things and reporting them so they’ll get handled. The markings at Fermoy were handled promptly when he brought it up. Lagge brought up the 4 way stop coming out of Walmart onto Fermoy again. Lt. Kalinowski advised that it had been deferred to the WalMart Corporation but that he’d forward through the Chief. Lagge advised he is still concerned about the markings approaching the round a bouts indicating a possible left turn. And also that the stop sign at his corner is continually run. Lt Kalinowski commented that the time change is coming up quick and that our volunteers would be surveying street lights. Vice Mayor Crews commented on the awesome job that had been done at Fourth Street in the area of 5th and A. Our next meeting will be at 6:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2017. Meeting was adjourned at 6:25pm.
