CITY OF GALT PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES ANTHONY PESCETTI COMMUNITY ROOM 455 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE, GALT, CALIFORNIA Monday, July, 25, 2022, 6:00 PM The meeting was called to order at approximately 6:02pm by Chief Kalinowski. Member Schamber ran the meeting until chair/vice chair selections were made. Committee Members present were: McCord (late), Schamber, Reed, Schopf, Cates and non-voting member Vice Mayor Sandhu Absent: None Staff Members present were: Police Chief Kalinowski, Police Captain Rick Small, and Public Works Director Mike Selling. Chief Kalinowski led us as we pledged allegiance to the American Flag. PUBLIC COMMENT: No Public Comment PRESENTATION: Captain Rick Small presented the updated Emergency Operations Plan. The information covered significant changes to the plan. The City Council will hear the item in September for adoption. A general discussion occurred. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION: 1. The minutes from the March 28, 2022 meeting were reviewed and approved with a motion by motion from Schopf and second by Cates with a vote 4-0. 2. Appointment by Chair/Vice Chair- A motion by Reed and Seconded by Schamber appointing Chair Reed passed with a 4-0 vote A motion by Schopf seconded by Cates appointing Vice Chair Schopf passed with a 4-0 vote.  3. Traffic Concerns: Discussion regarding the speeding near schools and the department’s annual plan for the start of school was discussed. 4. CFD Fire Coverage: CFD Fire Chief and personnel presented the coverage plan for responses to calls in the City of Galt, along with a historical look at the response times, specific to paramedic and ambulance response. A general discussion occurred. No further action. 5. Homeless Population safety concerns: A general discussion occurred along with a discussion about current case law and other legislation issues, enforcement and services. UPDATES: No significant items were presented as updates. CORRESPONDENCE: No correspondence. COMMENTS BY COMMITTEE MEMBERS: No items or topics were brought forward beyond the items discussed in the meeting. Next meeting is scheduled for September 26, 2022. With no further business, Chair Reed adjourned the meeting at approximately 7:14 pm. ###
