Meeting Minutes, January 8, 2024
Meeting held in City Council Chambers

A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Joshua Cullers, Chair, called meeting to order at 6:30
P.M.
B. ROLL CALL: Adult Mentors Present: Fjeldstad, Goerzen, King, Lampson, Farmer
Youth Members Present: Akers, Bowman, Brixey (6:31), Bulahan, Murillo Cuevas, Cullers,
Jones, Ortega, Sandhu
Youth Members Absent: Lallian
C. PUBLIC COMMENT: None
D. PRESENTATIONS: None
E. REGULAR BUSINESS:
1. Icebreaker
Adult Mentor King had commissioners share the best gift they gave to someone, and a goal
going into 2024.
2. Budget Report
Commissioner Jones shared most recent budget report. No change reported.
3. Approval of minutes for November 6, 2023
The commission approved the meeting minutes with the following amendments: added
periods on Agenda Items 1, 2, 3, 10, and correction of spelling on Item 1, Public Comment,
and Commissioner Sandhu’s last name.

4. Senior Technology Project
March 12, 2024, was decided to be the date of the event. The event is to be held at the
Methodist Church after 1 pm. Communication to Pastor Mary and food count was put into
progress.
Moved: Murillo Cuevas Second: Ortega Ayes: 10 Nays: 0 Abstain: 0
5. Interact Fashion Show Update
Commissioners decided to not participate.
6. Meal with SPED students at each high school
Commissioner Jones requested a budget not to succeed $300 for the students at Galt High
School for the event.
Moved: Jones Second: Bowman Ayes: 10 Nays: 0 Abstain: 0
7. Youth Survey for High Schools
Tabled.
8. Galt Library Project
Commissioner Akers shared updates; Commission decided to reach out to library for wish
list.
9. Game Night with Seniors and Teen Center
Mentor Farmer suggested a game night with senior citizens in possible partnership with the
Galt Teen Center. Commission agreed to partake. Subcommittee was formed consisting of
Commissioners Murillo Cuevas, Akers, and Brixey.

C. PUBLIC COMMENT - Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may
address the commission on any item of interest to the public. Speakers may address commission on
any agenda item during consideration of the item. Please come to the podium and limit your
comments to three (3) minutes.
