CITY OF GALT GALT YOUTH COMMISSION Meeting Minutes, December 4, 2023 Meeting held in City Council Chambers 380 CIVIC DRIVE GALT, CALIFORNIA A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Joshua Cullers, Chair, called meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. B. ROLL CALL: Adult Mentors Present: Fjeldstad, Goerzen, King, Lampson Adult Mentors Absent: Mayor Vandenburg Youth Members Present: Akers, Bowman (6:31), Brixey, Bulahan, Murillo Cuevas, Cullers, Jones, Lallian, Ortega, Sandu C. PUBLIC COMMENT: - Leesa Klotz with Galt Sunrise Rotary shared appreciation for dinner donations and requests for assistance Friday and Saturday, December 15th and 16th for predinner assistance - Paul Sandhu shared appreciation to commission for town participation - Rotary Lorenzo shared appreciation to commission for all done D. PRESENTATIONS: None E. REGULAR BUSINESS: 1. Icebreaker Adult Mentor King had commissioners answer three question regarding the Lightning of the Night event 2. Budget Report Commissioner Jones shared most recent budget report 3. Approval of minutes for November 6, 2023 The space in item 10 in subcommittee and the space in the slash was removed and a period was added onto item 12 Moved: Bulahan Second: Akers Ayes: 10 Nays: 0 Abstain: 0 4. Recap of Lighting of the Night Commission reviewed previously discussed questions from icebreaker. No action taken. 5. Interact Fashion Show Update No update. Tabled. 6. Meal with SPED students at each high school No update. No action taken. 7. Youth Survey for HIgh Schools Lallian shared updates for survey, QR was made and flier were split evenly between Lallian and Akers for distribution at high schools 8. Galt Library Project Commissioner Akers shared updates, subcommittee decided to have it be a whole community project and discussed a possible award for most donated. No action taken. 9. Future Agenda Items Eggstravaganza Independence Day Random Acts of kindness - Chair: Bulahan and Jones assisted by Murillo- Cuevas A-Z Veterans Dinner Scholarships Interact Fashion Show Senior Tech 10.
