MINUTES OF THE GALVESTON CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING-TUESDAY DECEMBER 8TH, 2020 VIRTUAL ZOOM MEETING I. DECLARATION OF A QUORUM AND CALL MEETING TO ORDER a. With a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 2:02pm Present: Chairperson Nick Barbee, Trey Click, Becky Major, Pat Jakobi, Ken Shelton, Sherrill Hilton, Michael Woody, Kathleen DiNatale, Mayor Pro-tem Craig Brown, Absent: Mary Longorria, Josh Ojeda b. Review of Minutes: November minutes reviewed, corrected. Motion to approve Trey Click, seconded Pat Jakobi c. Word on the Street: Trey Click reports on Downtown Partnership Tree Decorating Contest and Mardi Gras Float contest d. Public Comment : None II. Reports a. Chair’s report on workshop to finalize City Flag submissions b. Cultural Master Plan (no report) III. Discussion City Flag Submissions/Action Motion to proceed a. Discussion of process for going forward with City Flag submissions, Finalists be required to sign Submission Agreement City will post submissions on website for input w/Good Flag/Bad Flag parameters Commission will choose 3 flag proposals to submit to City Council b..Motion to accept City Submission Agreement and 10 Finalists to be posted on city website for input prior to submitting to City Council. Motion by Nick Barbee, Seconded by Trey Click.  IV. Discussion Artist Grant Public Information/Action a.Procedure for offering information sessions/ outline for how to submit proposals, opportunites for Questions/Answers for Public Art Grants. City website, video equipment will be made available for this. b.Becky Major will work with Public Information Officer to implement V.
