Adult Softball - $2,179.00 Fall Ball Tuesday (will begin Oct 19th due to rainouts, Thursday Fall ball will conclude October 28 th) b. Adult Kickball - $400.00 * teams (2 more than last fall) c. Adult Hockey - $200.00 4 teams playing every Sunday d. Kids Dodgeball - $125.00 Start date: Nov. 8th, 9 kids signed up already e. Pavilion Rentals - $760.00 Last rental will be October 24. Concession - $1,009.25 Rink concessions steady but have been hit by food shortages like many other places. Trouble getting Gordon Food’s orders. Looking into other vendors but they are also having the same issues. h. Freestyle Skate - $445.00 Program runs 5 days a week and growing more revenue weekly i. Open Skate - $399.00 Glow Skate has been cancelled indefinitely due to staff shortages but we have added an Open skate on Thursdays along with our Sunday Skate j. CivicPlus – Online Registration - $7,838.00 Initial payment: POS System and Training Schedule still needs to be established. Hoping for this program to be up and running before February f. Sign-a-Rama – Egg Haunt Posters - $34.00 g. Tech Mechanical – Replace Expansion Valves - $14,268.96 No Warranty on these parts from the manufacturer. This replacement by Tech Mechanical carries it’s own warranty for parts and labor, but they are not the company that sold the machinary h. Home Depot – Air Compressor - $99.00 Replacement i. Rink Systems – Board Brush, Edger Blades, Resurface Towel - $969.31 Operation Expenses for running and maintaining the Zamboni. *Hayes Precision sharpens our blades; Rink Systems is a distributor of necessary merchandise for Zambonis. Blades are changed on a weekly basis and Hayes Precision picks up sharp and takes dull blades. F. Maplewood a. Cardio Drumming - $132.00 b. Cardio Strength – $58.50 c. Yoga Instructor - $520.00 d. Ice Arena Fall Programming a. Movies in the Park - Sept. 18 – Jumanji – The Next Level – 50 People Cold day and many stayed in their cars, but it was well attended. Next year, we will try to have movies in all the parks and start earlier in the season. b. Kickball – 8 Teams c. Fall Ball – 10 Teams B. Maplewood Fall Programming a. Dance – 196 Students and 426 Spots Filled b. Tech Talk – 14 Participants in the 2 offerings for August c. Cardio Drumming – 24 Visits IV. Old Business A. Civic Rec Update POS System, training in progress, going “live” by February, and fees will still need to taken for credit card transactions. Explanation of current credit card companies in rink: Point n Pay – this system is in the concessions and does not charge a fee G2G – system used by City for office transactions. B. Helen Park Update Surface mount, not concrete; no bids needed, just going back to company for different needs and new pricing. C. City Park Grant Update In the planning process; when designs and/or bids come in, the Rec Commission would like to have a look and say in the proces V. New Business A. NRPA Conference Brad traveled to Nashville for the conference; seen several vendors with many ideas for the City Park Grant money. Interested in “Adult Recess” programs B. COVID Testing No longer in Maplewood; neither is FEMA. Flu Shots Oct 1st C. Park Inspections and New Park Assignments New Assignments for Park Inspections. Moving forward, inspections will need to turned in to commission meetings so that they can be addressed at the next meeting. D. Commemorative Bench Application – Bench Ordered E. To Do List a. The microphone wasn’t working for the Garden City resident that attended the Meeting, but she was speaking on cleaning the fence lines of residents that share their yards around the perimeter of Garden City Park.
