5:00 Meeting called to order
5:05 Meeting minutes dated August 18, 2014 were not signed due to a change to be made. Meeting
minutes from September 22, 2014 were signed.
5:15 Jennifer Susen-Roy talked about her inspection of SAWA on August 26th. She found multiple
violations…no gloves worn at sushi bar, no sushi log, no log at 3 bay sink, no test strips in
restaurant, fish thawing in hand washing sink, dishwasher area filthy, 3 bay sink was not full of
water, and complaint of cockroaches. She returned on August 29th and everything was corrected.
She returned again on October 17th and found the following violations: 3 bay sink rinse
compartment not filled and no log for sink, no test log for ph strips, dishwasher area still filthy,
sushi log info for 10/10/14 was logged in at a later date-couldn’t verify if info is correct. Mr.
Huang blamed the problems on the workers having bad habits and felt if he reprimanded them
too much they would look for other jobs. The Board stressed that employee turnover and skills
are his responsibility as the owner. The Board of Health members agreed that fines should be
issued for any further non critical violations and possible closure for critical violations. The
Board has requested frequent checks by the Health Department personnel at this establishment.
Bernie will send a letter to SAWA explaining the fine schedule that the Board of Health members
agree upon. The Board addressed the entire lengthy list of violations reported by Ms. Susen-Roy.
6:00 Old business: Dr. Miller mentioned that he would still like to talk to United Water regarding the
odors at the sludge landfill. The Board discussed joining the Central Mass Mosquito Control
Project again.
6:15 New business: The Board discussed the various ebola cases. Bernie feels confident about the
Heywood Hospital’s infectious control unit in the event of any ebola cases that may arise in this
area.
6:30 Bernie informed the Board of the upcoming flu clinics: Employee clinic is set for October 21st and
the Senior Center is set for October 29th.
6:38 Set next meeting, adjourn

The next meeting was set for Monday, November 17, 2014.
