Vance RE: Minutes for the Board of Health meeting held on Monday, April 6, 2015 __________________________________________________________________________________ 5:00 Meeting called to order 5:05 Meeting minutes dated February 23, 2015 were approved and signed. 5:15 Old business: Dr. Miller inquired about Perrett Lane Properties (13 Greenwood Street #3 inspection). They have proceeded with the work and Bernie will verify with Jennifer Susen-Roy that the work has been completed. Bernie asked the Board if they would like to have the Sewer Department attend a Board of Health meeting to discuss the sludge landfill. They agreed to have them come in soon. Bernie gave the members a copy of the annual report. New business: Dr. Miller attended an open house for the Baby’s Breath Program and was impressed with the program. Bernie talked about the program. Two women from the program are going to Housing Authority properties to help educate residents with group sessions through funds Bernie has received. The Housing Authority is going smoke free. The Baby’s Breath Project has monthly meetings. Susan Avallone informed the Board that she will be doing narcan training on May 6th. She will only be doing training and educating. She will not be dispensing it. Susan also informed the Board of the AED Foundation opening a Peer Recovery & Resource Center on April 19th called Alyssa’s Place at the GAAMHA building. Funeral Director’s licenses were signed by the Board. 5:30 Legislation for Tobacco 21: The Board members support the legislation at the state level, but are not in favor of passing a local regulation. Bernie will write letters of support to be sent to Senator Jennifer Flanagan and State Representative, Jonathan Zlotnik from the Board members. 6:00 Set next meeting, adjourn Recording proceedings were preserved and are available upon request.
