5:00 Meeting called to order
5:05 Meeting minutes dated April 6, 2015 were approved subject to a correction to be made.
5:15 Cruisers Malt Shoppe: Ronald Robichaud came in to discuss the food inspections dated 3ll7l15
md 4ll3ll5 conducted by Jennifer Susen-Roy. The test strips used for sanitizing the water had
run out a couple of times and the records had been back dated without Mr. Robichaud's
knowledge. The coolers needed to be cleaned and the cooks were not wearing gloves. Mr.
Robichaud stated that 4 employees had ServSafe certificates and he has 4 more employees signed
up for the ServSafe training. The Board suggested to Mr. Robichaud that he should also take the
ServSafe training and he agreed to do that.
5:30 Elmir Simov, landlord of 17-19 Greenwood Street, requested a meeting with the Board to discuss
housing violations to the state sanitary codes. Mr. Simov receiyed a violation on February 20,
2015 from 17 Greenwood Street #1 for no heat and hot water. He didn't think he should have
been written up because he had maintenance there working on the problem. Mr. Simov believes
that the Board of Health leans toward the side of the tenant when they see violations in an
apartment. He feels that if the inspector sees something that is reasonably attributable to the
tenant then the tenant should be cited for the violation. Bernie responded that we enforce the
minimum standards of the sanitary code. Mr. Simov thinks that the Board of Health should be
balanced and should use reasonable judgement when coming across a situation and cite the
appropriate party.
5:45 Perrett Lane Properties did not show up.
5:50 Old business: Bernie will ask the Sewer Department to come in for the next meeting to talk about
the sludge landfill situation. Susan Avallone inquired about the mosquito control project. Bernie
presented all the information to Mayor Hawke and he felt it was too expensive. Bernie will
continue to try to convince the Mayor that it is worth the money. New business: There is a
Ilealth Fair at Gardner High School next month which will feature a Bite Lab on mosquito safety.
