Meeting minutes dated January 25, 2016 5:10 Subway’s Renewal of food permit: Last month the Liquor License Commission extended the Common Victualler License for Subway. The Board of Health gave the same extension for Subway’s food permit, until January 12, 2016. The Common Victualler License is a prerequisite for the Food Permit. The extension would allow Pasquale the time he needed for the process of selling the Subway located at 30 Pearson Blvd. The transfer of ownership of Subway did not occur by January 12, 2016. Bernie advised the board that Subway’s facility does not have a history of sanitary issues; the problem is more of a paperwork issue. The understanding is that the Liquor License Commissions will be issuing Subway their Common Victualler license at their next meeting. Bernie asks that the board vacate the order for Subway to close January 26, 2016. The board of health made a motion to vacate order and go forward with the food permit. Currently, not of Pasquale Lanni’s doing, there is water main break in the plaza in which his facility is located, which required this office to issue an emergency closure order today. 5:40 Old Business: There is no update at this time on the Flavored Tobacco products. The birds in Walmart, there are no issues at this time. 5:50 New Business: Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project: Information provided to the board of the locations that the project of controlling mosquitos have taken place recently. Mr Tobia asked about storm drains. There is a big treatment plan to treat storm drains to help prevent West Nile outbreaks, regular pesticides will start up in the spring. Bernie advised that a posting will be going out soon either by the Board of Health or Alan Agnelli, the City Clerk, informing homeowners they can fill out a form to opt their property out of any pesticide application. Ms Avallone asked about tires, will the company pick up the tires? They could pick them up at the dump; however, Bernie reported that the company we have now picking up the tires will take all of the tires as long as there is 40 or more tires. Whereas the Central Mass will pick and choose which tires they want to take. If there is a tire pile in the woods, Bernie would have Central Mass get them. 5:58 Set next meeting, adjourn Recording proceedings were preserved and are available upon request.
