5:00 Meeting called to order
5:05 Meeting minutes dated January 26, 2015 were approved and signed.
5:15 Old business: Thomas Desmarais has not come back to the Board regarding his food permit for
Chair City Pizza. Subway is working with the License Commission to resolve the issues they have
in regards to their common victualler’s license. They are being allowed to stay open because they
are meeting with the License Commission monthly to make sure they are working to settle with
the D.O.R. The food permit is being held by the License Commission until the common victualler
license is processed. The MPHN is pursuing a 5 year extension of the drug free communities
grant that is sustaining the GCAT program. They are also pursuing a substance abuse prevention
collaborative grant. Gardner will be the host community for the western half of MPHN (5
communities). Fitchburg will be the host community for the other 6 communities. The Governor
supports the two programs mentioned and has made them a priority of his. The MPHN grant
that has placed sharps take back boxes and medication return boxes, as well as the community
health assessment has been well received. Bernie will be doing a presentation at the Health
Foundation board meeting of these activities. Bernie will have a draft of the community health
assessment being done for Athol Hospital, Heywood Hospital, and Health Alliance to be reviewed
for comments, corrections, etc.
No new business.
5:30 Perrett Lane Properties did not show up regarding 13 Greenwood Street #3 inspection. They sent
an email explaining that they did not have enough notice of the hearing date due to unforeseen
circumstances. The occupants came in to explain their side of the story. Bernie gave copies of all
the inspections done by Jennifer Susen-Roy since November 17, 2014 to the Board to review.
Bernie will send a letter to the owners informing them that the hearing was held. He will explain
that the Board has found the violation list has been upheld and they must come into compliance
immediately. The Board will follow up with the appropriate channels. The letter will go out
certified and regular mail and will be posted on the property.
6:04 Set next meeting, adjourn
Recording proceedings were preserved and are available upon request.
