COUNCIL CAUCUS MEETING MINUTES CITY OF GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OHIO Monday, June 8, 2020 (Note: This meeting was conducted by teleconference due to the current Covid-19 outbreak.) Council President Matt Burke called the Caucus Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Members Present: Jason Blake, Councilman Ward 5 Matt Burke, Councilman Ward 6 Shayla Davis, Councilwoman Ward 4 Charles Donahue, Councilman Ward 2 Michael Dudley, Sr., Councilman Ward 1 Michael Nenadovich, Councilman Ward 3 Tom Vaughn, Councilman Ward 7 President Burke moved to accept the Caucus Minutes of May 11, 2020 as written, Clmn Nenadovich seconded and his motion stood approved unanimously. President Burke moved to suspend the Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, Written Communications to Council, Committee Reports, Miscellaneous Comments and Reports from Directors except for the Report of the Mayor and a report by Clmn Blake regarding the School Board. His motion stood approved unanimously. The Chairman asked Council whether they had any questions on the legislation. Regarding Ordinance 56- 2020, (posting) Clwn Davis asked when the Charter had last been changed. Law Director Riley replied that it had last been updated in 2002. ORDINANCE NO. 56-2020 Clmn Burke advised that he would move to consider by title. RESOLUTION NO. 15-2020 Clmn Burke advised that he would move to consider by title. RESOLUTION NO. 16-2020 Clmn Burke advised that he would move to consider by title. President Burke next opened the floor to Council to share any information they had or discuss any topic of interest. Clmn Dudley thanked Clwn Davis for her outstanding Citywide Prayer Movement on June 7, 2020. Clwn Davis thanked him and thanked everyone who had attended her prayer service. Clmn Blake expressed thanks to Clwn Davis, the Police Officers who came and to all the attendees. President Burke thanked Clwn Davis for organizing such a well put together event and thanked State Representative Stephanie Howes for being there. Police Chief Byrne commented that it was perfect. He said the fact that some Council Members from Maple Heights and other suburbs were there showed that our community could have a peaceful gathering.
