Village Board Meeting
Thursday, May 12th, 2022 @ 7:00 p.m.
BOARD 1) Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance
Meeting of the Village Board was called to order at 7:04 PM by President Ken Parker.

2) Citizen’s Comments
Ken Parker
Village President -Mark Miller, W533 Highland Ave., Bloomfield, WI, voiced concern over a book in the
Genoa City Library. President Parker explained that he would need to speak to the Library
Duane Gallo Director and Library Board about such issues.

-Tamara Miller, W533 Highland Ave., Bloomfield, WI, commented on the positive
Paul Jargstorf -A impacts of No Mow May and other environmental publications put out by the Village.

3) Consent Agenda: Any item listed on the consent agenda may be removed at the request of any
Beth Wydra member of the Board.

5) New Business:
a. Discussion and possible action regarding a Special Events Permit filed by Tamara Herner from Herner’s
Hideaway located at 202 Williams Rd, Genoa City for a Vendor Events every day May 1 – Oct 31, 2022; 10:00
am – 10:00 pm.
Tamara Herner asked for an extended Special Events Permit, Board agreed to coincide with 3 yr. Special Events
Permit on file to exp. in October 2023.
On a Gallo/Larson motion; carried 4-0
b. Discussion and possible action regarding a Special Events Permit filed by Steve Kaminsky dba Broken Spoke
Eatery located at 332 Fellows Rd, Genoa City for “Saturday in the Park” and Sunday Funday for every
Saturday and Sunday in 2022, May 29th – September 25th, 2022 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
Most events will be weddings. Events and bands will be similar to last year. They have added a stage.
On a Gallo/Larson motion; carried 4-0
c. Carter St. at Franklin St. Stop Sign.
On a Larson/Krause motion; carried 4-0
6) Ordinance and Resolution Updates:
a. Ordinance 05-12-2022a - Repeal § 82-4 Standing Committees
President Parker will review bills before each board meeting and there will be a monthly Committee of the Whole
(COW) in place of committees.
On a Krause/Wydra motion; carried 4-0
7) Attorney Report: Linda Gray No Report
8) Supervisor Reports
Clerk/Treasurer Jurewicz’ Report – Nothing to add
PW Supervisor Cole’s Report – Spoke about extra signage for new stop sign
Chief Balog’s PD Report -- Part time officer sworn in.
9) Village President Report – None
10) Adjourn into closed session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85(1)

On a Gallo/Larson motion; carried 4-0
a. Consideration and possible action on recommendations for matters discussed in Closed Session by the Village
Board.
On a Gallo/Krause motion; carried 4-0
On a Larson/Gallo motion to adjourn at 8:01 PM; motion carried by trustees, 5-0.
