Georgetown City Council Meeting Minutes of April 28, 2025 Page 1 of 2 Georgetown City Council Meeting April 28, 2025 6 pm Mayor Jenkins called the Georgetown City Council meeting to order at 6:00 pm. All members were present except Councilmember Wilkins Brent. After a moment of silence, Councilmember Hambrick led the pledge. 1. Minutes A motion to approve the minutes from the April 17, 2025 Special City Council work session was made by Councilmember Hambrick and seconded by Councilmember Hampton. The motion was unanimously approved. 2. Acknowledgement of Check Register Mayor Jenkins requested that council members acknowledge receipt of the check register. All acknowledged receipt. 3. Event Applications – Juneteenth Gospel Explosion A motion to approve the June 14, 2025 event was made by Councilmember Lusby Mitchell and seconded by Councilmember Hambrick. The motion was unanimously approved. 4. Mayor’s Comments a) Executive Order – Georgetown Housing Authority Appointment – Glenda Dees A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Hambrick and seconded by Councilmember Tingle Sames. A roll call vote passed 7-0. b) City Hall Renovation Update – Lord Aeck Sargent and Codell Construction Company 5. City Engineer – Resolution – New Access Point (Marketplace at Frankfort Pike) A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Menke and seconded by Councilmember Crisp. The motion was unanimously approved. 6. Mayor’s Comments Continued – Departmental Reports – Fire Department, Code Enforcement, Public Works, and City Engineer A motion to take a break following the Fire Department Presentation was made by Councilmember Lusby Mitchell and seconded by Councilmember Tingle Sames at 8:03 pm. The motion was unanimously approved. A motion to call the meeting back to order was made by Councilmember Menke and seconded by Councilmember Tingle Sames at 8:10 pm. The motion was unanimously approved. 7. First Reading a) Annexation Ordinance – 1367 Paynes Depot Road – Sponsor Sonja Wilkins Brent b) Zoning Change Ordinance – 1367 Paynes Depot Road – Sponsor Sonja Wilkins Brent c) South Sewer Extension Ordinance – Sponsors – Willow Hambrick and Todd Stone d) 2025 Series A Bond Anticipation Note Ordinance e) 2026 Series A Bond Ordinance Georgetown City Council Meeting Minutes of April 28, 2025 Page 2 of 2 8. GMWSS a) Mission Communications – $12,876.40 A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Lusby Mitchell and seconded by Councilmember Menke. The motion was unanimously approved. b) Straeffer Pump & Supply – $12,987.00 A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Hambrick and seconded by Councilmember Hampton. The motion was unanimously approved. c) Judy Construction – $500,256.28 A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Stone and seconded by Councilmember Hambrick. The motion was unanimously approved. d) Mowing Services – Recommendation of Award A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Hampton and seconded by Councilmember Menke. The motion was unanimously approved. e) Hazen & Sawyer – $47,000.00 A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Hambrick and seconded by Councilmember Lusby Mitchell. The motion was unanimously approved. 9. Office of Affordable Housing and Homelessness Prevention – Quarterly Update 10. Finance Department – Municipal Order – Stock Yards Bank Investment Renewal A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Lusby Mitchell and seconded by Councilmember Hambrick. The motion was unanimously approved. There being no further business, Mayor Jenkins adjourned the meeting at 10:48 pm.
