MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF THURSDAY OCTOBER 17, 2019 AT 5:30 PM, MUNICIPAL CENTER 1, ROOM 233, 50 E CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Jenn Daniels, Vice Mayor Eddie Cook, Councilmembers Scott Anderson, Brigette Peterson, Jordan Ray, Jared Taylor, and Aimee Yentes COUNCIL ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Town Clerk Lisa Maxwell, Deputy Clerk Chaveli Herrera, Town Attorney Christopher Payne, Assistant Town Attorney John Baird, and Assistant Town Attorney Nancy Davidson AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Daniels called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember Ray, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to recess the Special Meeting and reconvene in Executive Session pursuant to: a) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3) and (4), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning legal options for SRO funding obligations under intergovernmental agreements with school districts; and b) A.R.S. § § 38-431.03(3), (4), and (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning a Request for Qualifications for the development of 10 acres of property located near the southwest corner of Higley and Queen Creek Roads; and c) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3),(4), and (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning a contract for the sale of land near Gilbert and Juniper Roads. Motion carried 7-0.
