MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF THURSDAY MARCH 05, 2020 AT 5:30 PM, MUNICIPAL CENTER 1, ROOM 233 50 E CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Jenn Daniels, Vice Mayor Scott Anderson, Councilmembers Brigette Peterson, Jordan Ray, Jared Taylor, and Aimee Yentes COUNCIL ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Deputy Clerk Chaveli Herrera, Town Attorney Christopher Payne AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Daniels called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m. RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember Peterson, seconded by Councilmember Taylor, to recess to Executive Session pursuant to: a) A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(3) for discussion and consultation for legal advice with Town Attorney regarding the filling of a vacancy in the Office of Councilmember; and b) A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(1) to discuss and rank the applications of Iya Wekenon Affo, Philip Alibrandi, Ethan Allen, Colby Ashton, Talon Bates, Ronald Bellus, John Beltran, Gina Bennett, Jorge Ber, Kevin Bishop, Joseph John Bradfisch, Michael Brienza, Lucas Buchanan, Brian Cannon, Alexander Cardona, Estevan Carmona, David Cavenee, Becky Cholewka, Mark Cichocki, William Clayton, Sean Cleary, Ronald Coleman, Daryl Colvin, Michael Coplan, Kathleen Dowler, Nabeel Ebrahim, Shelli Engler, Kenneth Erickson, James Estrada, William Fay, Jaden Feddock, Bob Ferron, Patrick Finerd, Adam Frost, Robert Galvan III, Matthew Gartrell, Levi Germaine, David Gilbert, Christine Gomez, Paul Gonzales, Stacy Gramazio, Alex Hairston, Merlisha Henderson, M. Diane Wendt, Paul Widner, Henry Wolfe III, and Muhannad Zubi for Town Council. Motion carried 6-0. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE SPECIAL MEETING Mayor Daniels reconvened the Special Meeting at 6:49 p.m. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS 1.COUNCIL ADMINISTRATION - Announce the top applicants for the open Council seat to be interviewed at the Special meeting on March 17, 2020. Mayor Daniels announced that the eight applicants who will be interviewed at the March 17, 2020 Council Meeting would be Kathleen Dowler, Todd Jorgenson, Yung Koprowski, Noah Mundt, Scott September, Amanda Shaffie, Jän Simon, and Bill Spence. The candidates will be sent the interview questions by the end of business on March 16, 2020 and a background check will be conducted on the eight candidates prior to the interview.
